Authorized warranty repair centers in California

I am considering buying the 88 mk3 controller but I can’t seem to locate any authorized warranty repair centers in California. If there are any is there a list of them. Shipping one to and from a repair center if warranty repair was needed would be costly. Thanks!

I am not really sure which is the current policy (you need to contact NI Support for that too), but, 1.5 year ago, before i became a mod, my S49 MK2 became damaged, i was still under warranty, and NI paid both ways (send and return). However, that might happened because i am in Europe (so, no extra taxes or high prices etc.). It might be different for the American continent. Ask them!

I did a Google search and couldn’t find any authorized service centers in California for NI hardware products, Hopefully Google is wrong about that as I think not having that available for products that are not cheap would not be good. Having to pay for shipping both ways to have warranty work if needed would be costly in the case of the 88Mk3 i

Those there, are the "official" partners.

There are also several independent repair shops in California that specialize in Native Instruments hardware.

However, it is important to note that Native Instruments own hardware repair policies state that unauthorized maintenance or repair can void the limited warranty.

Therefore, if your product is still under warranty, you should first contact Native Instruments support directly, to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number.

I appreciate the info but the big question is if the repair places are too far away to drive to like Los Angeles and I have to ship the keyboard to get warranty work done on it would I have to pay for shipping it to and from a authorized service center. Because shipping a 88mk3 both ways is not going to be cheap.A list of the authorized repair places in California would be much appreciated and an answer about whether one has to shipping costs in the event warranty work needs to be done. Thanks!

It sounds like from reading their agreement that the buyer would be responsible for paying for shipping to a repair center for warranty repairs and NI will pay for shipping it back to you. And assuming since there’s no list of any authorized repair centers in California I’m going to assume that it would mostly likely would have to be shipped.Even paying for one way shipping for a s88 mk3 is going to be costly.

Thanks! I was finally able to get my question to NI support after confusing interactions with the automated support. The S88 MK 3 looks like a great controller for me as I have lots of NI software as well as others. Chances are there’s no authorized service centers near me so I think it’s only fair that NI would cover shipping both ways in the event of warranty repair being necessary. I will let you know what they say and thanks for your help!

I did hear from NI and mostly they just quoted the agreement and it’s a little ambiguous as it looks like it was written by a lawyer but having re-read it again it looks like it says the buyer would initially be responsible for shipping charges to the service center but if it turns out be a defect and not user damage then NI would pay both ways and reimburse for shipping for sending it there initially. I did write back to them and asked them if they could confirm that clearly and simply.
