Hi,

Since the update, it is impossible for me to use my Kontrol S88 MK3 MIDI keyboard.

I can’t install Hardware Connection Service. I click on “Install,” it installs, but nothing happens, and I notice it’s still available for download, as if it never actually installed in the end. I can’t use my keyboard anymore.

Everything is up to date, the firmware version is correct, but when I open Komplete Kontrol, nothing happens on my keyboard. I can’t use it anymore, and I really need it, so this is holding me back. I really need help, please, because Native Instruments customer support doesn’t even seem to know how to help me.

The customer support guy completely left me hanging when I asked him for a link to manually download the Hardware Connection Service, without even saying goodbye.

You can download a lot of older software from your account now. The download page is here - https://www.native-instruments.com/en/account/downloads/ and there is a link to the Hardware Connection Service download partway down the page.

Hello Waxstar, sorry for the frustration, I checked your ticket and it seems like your ticket has been escalated to an expert to check the issue. Are you using Native Access 3.20.0?

Also, would it be possible to send us the screenshot of what you are experiencing while trying to install your product so we can help you further to solve that.

Regarding customer support, I’m sorry to say this, but I asked for the direct link to download the Hardware Connection Service, and the agent just blew me off, telling me to check my email, didn’t even say goodbye, and left me without any solution.

I know it’s not your fault, but I’m extremely disappointed with the experience I had with the chat customer service.

Thanks anyway! It’s working again. I’ll be able to play piano again.

I’ll answer the questions anyway in case someone else has the same issue.

I do have version 3.20.

When I install the Hardware Connection Service via Native Access, nothing happens at all. That is, the software appears to install, there’s no error message, really nothing,

just it “installs” without actually installing. Once the installation finishes, I see Hardware Connection Service again in my list of software to install, I click it again, and it reinstalls, but it doesn’t really install, and all of this happens in a loop.

That’s it.

I am having exactly the same problem today with Native Access 3.20.0 and Hardware Connection Service 2.0.4. It worked fine yesterday before I downloaded and tried to install 2.0.4 today. My S61 MK3 can no longer connect.

Aw so sorry for you, check the first answer and try to install Hardware Connection Service manually. It work for me! :D

I had the exact same issue, found that Windows Firewall was blocking the install. Got it working by disabling the firewall temporarily then it completed the install.

Hi folks, I just updated my software and firmware today, and I'm having the same problem - keyboard unusable as a controller in Studio One, Kontakt 8, and Komplete Kontrol. MIDI note input seems ok though.

I updated the firmware to 2.0.4, Native Access to 3.20, and Hardware Connection Service to 2.0.4 - still says it's available for installation.

This is a real blocker to productivity, and I hope others raise the issue so that it can be escalated asap.

After losing a whole afternoon on this, I manually-installed the previous Hardware Connection Service (1.9.4) and all ok - although I don't trust it, and you'll get to find that this is really troublesome hardware / software (great when it does work though). I kept my firmware version at 2.0.4 and that doesn't seem to cause any problems - who knows what's going to happen if I revert the firmware too!

Hope this helps, and maybe I'll build up courage to manually install the latest version rather than 1.9.4. Thanks @mykejb for the link and thanks @Waxstar and others for raising the issue.
