Complicated Mapping Question for Stems with X1 MK2s

Hi - looking for some help mapping two X1 MK2 to control stem decks.

Here is the current setup:
Xone 92 connected to Traktor via Audio 10 with 2 X1 Mk2s to control the 4 decks

Decks are set up as C A B D with tracks A and B as stem decks

My objective is for the X1s to keep their same functionality (controlling decks A-D), except remap all of the FX knobs and buttons to control the stem decks on decks A and B instead of effects.

Ideally, the left X1 would have:

column 1 (most left) the 4 knobs for filters on each stem deck, with the buttons for on/off
column 2 (right column and next to mixer) would be 4 knobs for each stem volume, with the buttons acting as mute(kill) switches

As for the X1 to the right of the mixer, the goal would be to have it mapped the same as the left X1, except that the left column on the right column (closest to mixer) would be the stem volumes, and the right column would be the filters.

I can get through the basic mapping of each stem volume/filter and buttons in the control manager, but am not sure how to:

turn off the effects while maintaining a "duplicate" and overwritten mapping of the base X1 MK2 (I dont want to remap all the core functionality) - overwriting factory settings on the additional mappings did not overwrite the effects control
have two X1s running at the same time with different mapping.

As of now, I have no desire to swap between stems and effects - I am happy to have the effects turned off

Use the pre-mapped (empty-looking) x1mk2 mapping file (you should have two, one for each x1mk2) and add the sub-channel assignments to it. Check the box 'Override factory map' for every command, and it will override the underlying (but not visible) original function of the chosen control element.

Do not use an additional mapping file (i.e. user mapping), as this will only add functions without overriding the original function.

This is what your original (modified) x1mk2 mapping should look like for every command you add:

I tried your suggestion, base x1 mk2 mapping (which I duplicated and renamed), and mapped the stem tracks (submix or whatever its labeled) and it was working fine, however when turning the volume knobs, they adjusted both the effects and the stem tracks. I'll keep giving it a go, its clearly how to do it I was just running into bugs

the second question is, how do I have 2 X1s running with different mappings? idea is to have the deck B functions inverted from A (deck A column closest to mixer are volumes, and deck b closest to mixer are volumes) - is it within the "device target" parameters?

n.b. in the picture, the X1s are connected as regularly mapped x1s (2fx decks active which is why there are lights only on the insides) - the chroma caps are for when I am practicing for gigs and plug this in alone to my laptop and have an X1 mapped as a mixer.

You need to have exactly two X1MK2 mappings in your device dropdown, one for each X1MK2 connected. The In-Port and Out-Port dropdowns at the top right need to be set to the corresponding device.

Both need to be empty before you start adding assignments for the stem controls. Once you add an assignment and select a control element (like one of the FX knobs), check the override box (i marked it in orange). Now turn the knob. The originally controlled (FX) parameter should not be controlled anymore if you do this.

If you still run into trouble, show me some pictures of your assignment like the one that i posted, and have the device dropdown menu open when you make the screenshot, so i can see all of your mappings listed.

Thanks for the help.- got the mapping up and running

FYI for anyone that encounters the issue of not being able to override default mapping, its because the default mapping was still applied/running on each x1 (I had to manually disable the ports for the default mapping so that the new mapping - duplicate of default + changes was running alone).

And i just overwrite default mappings, and give it another name to ID it correctly. Or, if i import it from some other source i delete the old default mappings before or after importing. This way, Traktor doesn't automatically switch them out for some reason.
