Missing .xml file and crashing

I was using Massive X fine for over a whole month. July 18, the plugin lost the settings I had been using for the past 40 days. Whenever I try to change the wavetable mode the plugin crashes and the DAW crashes to desktop. I tried deleting every file and folder where Massive X had any data or files. I reinstalled. Still crashing.

I found a youtube tutorial where one person said it could be due to a missing .xml file in the service center folder. All my other Native Instrument applications have an .xml file in this folder except Massive X. I do not know what I need to do to reconstruct this file.

It could be related to a current issue with an update that modified certain Massive X files as noted here. NI is aware of it (thanks to @Kymeia for reporting the issue) and a official fix will (hopefully) be made available soon.

Workaround for now:

1. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Massive X and copy both Noisetables and Wavetables folders into the Presets folder.
2. Next, inside the Presets folder itself, create a new folder called Presets and copy the existing preset files (the Init and QSG ones) into that new folder.
3. Let Massive X rescan and things should work again.

(It is important that you copy and not just move those files.)
