Any up to date Maschine 3 manual anywhere?
Ideally 3.2/PDF but I'll take whatever.

I own a Maschine Studio, sure, legacy(ish), only Maschine 2.8 manual there.

So I look at Maschine 3.2 MK3 manual, in song arranger view, instead of pattern it shows clips as button 2 on the screenshots. Workflow seems different, screens looks a little different.

I look at the software online manual, it's stuck in the past, stuff is missing and has changed. Scratching my head a little more.

It takes a little while to realise that of course "pattern" is now entirely dedicated to "ideas" view nowadays, so it definitely will show clips in song view.. but I wasted 30 mins getting my brain around it. Now I realise I can only edit events if I'm in ideas view and click the pattern button on the studio. Alrighty…

Native Instruments used to be very good at updating their documentation, what happened?

On the named download page, there is a download for Maschine 2 in the software section - but the manual for Maschine 3 ist only an online manual. Online is not download. What about those, who want to read a PDF manual offline? I know, there is one, but not on the download page.

And: does the PDF version cover all additions from the last update? Or ist it just Maschine 3 basic? I remember, that NI liked to add a new addendum for each minor update, but not a single up to date manual with Maschine 2. In the end, I had 4 or 5 manuals…

Thanks Jeremy. I'm actually using the latest manuals for Maschine Studio, Maschine, MK3 and the software. Even the online manual from the app.

There seems to be a lot of stuff that isn't fully updated in those manuals,.that includes the live online manual, showing old behaviours and screenshots..mostly in the "working with patterns and clips" section.

And yes I want a PDF please.

@CakeAlexS There is no pdf version of the Maschine 3 manual at the moment. Can you give examples where the online manual is not corresponding to the current version's reality? Then I can bring that up to our documentation team, thanks.

"So I look at Maschine 3.2 MK3 manual, in song arranger view, instead of pattern it shows clips as button 2 on the screenshots. Workflow seems different, screens looks a little different."

Sorry can't give specific examples right now but this is somewhere in the "working with patterns and clips".

Some screenshots show "event" as a button to press rather than "clip".

Seems to be muddling song and ideas mode.

another one, quantisation for playback is missing in one of the manuals manauls (MK3?).

Sorry I would like to point to specific areas of the manual to make your life easy but I'm stuck on a movie set for a week. I'm doing this this from memory. Sorry for being vague, I just haven't had the time.

I would read through that chapter to make sure it's up to date with the correct screenshots and functionality.

I'm still ploughing through the manual.

It would be really really helpful if there was a manual for 3.2/studio/jam but hey ho. I'm trying to work it out via hybrid of the online manual/MK3 and these controller manuals.

I think the last time I went through these manuals is when Maschine was at 2.4, they were super clear and well written.

When I have the time to find specifics I'd be sure to post here so again sorry for any delays, in the meantime I'm point to that particular "working with patterns and clips" chapter for review.

This is from a Maschine Studio perspective and I may come across muddled.

    Online manual:

"2. Press Button 2 (PATTERN) to enter Pattern Arrange mode."

Screenshot shows "pattern" - however the Maschine Studio this shows "Clip" instead, continues to talk about patterns rather than clips in the manual. And sure if I have clip selected (button 2) it will create a clip if I press button 5.

    And here:

Well I can create clips in song mode (as stated earlier). Regardless just for clarity it would be useful to nice to show a screenshot in this section.

So is this Maschine Studio issue or documentation or my misunderstanding or whatever?
I'm starting to think my confusion is with Maschine Studio behaviour.

How do I create an "Event" rather than a clip in Maschine Studio?

(I realise the manual is for MK3, would sorely like a 3.2 PDF manual for Maschine Studio).

Ok I'll create another thread, this one was getting muddled anyway.

    I'll create another thread

Please don't do that , you should not create more threads on same topic , if you do they will either be merged deleted..

I turned your question into a discussion , so it is no longer marked as 'solved'

OK but I may still do it because I think this thread has become muddled, and I haven't been very specific (topics are too broad), I'll be happy for you to lock this thread and I'll create a new one, Thanks.

I haven't been very specific (topics are too broad

How can the topic be more narrow then : "Up to date Maschine 3 manual anywhere" ?

To create a new thread on same topic would basically be to expect for people to come and post same answers. So please do not do that.

Also then Jeremy_NI already told you that there is no PDF version manual available for Maschine 3 , so that is the answer currently. Don't get me wrong , I am fully with you in as much as that I agree that all manuals ought to be available as PDF. Online manuals however do have one great advantage and that is that you can apply browser language translator tools which will allow translation into other languages with ease for everybody.

Anyway then Jeremy_NI is absent from here until the 14th , when he comes back then you can ping him and continue your discussion with him here.

You've just exactly demonstrated why this thread has become muddled.

I've asked other questions as well here that haven't got an answer, and this discussion right now is taking it elsewhere to, so please lock the thread. I won't be discussion PDF / manuals rather the content to do with the manual. Thankyou.
