Anyone know of an A.I tool to tag and sort songs by Genre?

Just was curious if anyone has discovered an A.I tool that can identify songs by genre and then create folders or playlists for them?

I have around 400 UKG songs downloaded and I'd like to sort them by style (UKG, Speed Garage, etc.) without having to relisten to all 400 of them of lol.

The only aspect of such a thing that would be considered AI would in be the classification of individual songs, but someone would need to teach the AI how to identify such things. Someone may eventually do it, but I suspect it will probably not be a "free" service and I'd suspect it would take a pretty long time to differentiate genres accurately as there are tons of cross genre styles.

Seen this discussed on a lot of forums over the years and it always ends in the same consensus, what you hear as one genre is not what someone else will hear so it may miss the mark a lot. Sometimes the overall album is what dictates the genre class more than the actual style of an individual song. There are some ways using discogs or musicbrainz integrations with something like MP3Tag but the results are often less than perfect just because a lot of songs have strange genre classes to them.

400 songs is not much at all, man people just want shortcuts for everything these days. AI will lead to a lot of lazy and unskilled existences in the future that is for sure. Sometimes skill is built through the process of solving a problem.

When I digitized all my CDs and records (and other acquired tracks) with maybe 200,000 files many had no genre or year and wanting to auto generate smart playlists in Serato to sort things I needed metadata in these files. MP3 Tag was used to get some of it but I also had to create a lookup script so I could literally just step through each song on a compilation album for instance, lookup the track on discogs and detect the earliest release of that track and the genre and assign it. It was part automated and part manual and took months of part time slogging through a collection.

400 songs would have been a few hours manual work, get started and lookup the songs and tag them, u'll be done in no time

Thanks for the tips! I actually have gone through and tagged a lot of songs since this post was made. I'm actually working on training a ML to sort and tag the songs in conjunction with the Soundcloud API for personal use.

The main reason I'm looking for an AI is many of the songs either A.) have no metadata at all, and B.) come from SoundCloud or other sources and lack discog entries or tags (most of the time the artists don't seem to be adding anything) due to not being released by any sort of label or publication.

I get that some people may call it lazy, but I'm not that much of a purist when it comes to utilizing all the tools that may be at my disposal. Worst comes to worst, a song gets sorted wrong and I just have to retag.

Well, not just lazy but also takes away your ability to think through a solution. That is what many forget, having AI do all the work for you takes away that important process of learning how to do something. Sure it may take some time to do but it builds skill, builds memory and gives you a sense of purpose.

I actually enjoyed dedicating a few hours to just sit and listen to music and tag it. I mean, as a DJ that is kind of something you should be interested to do IMHO.

Yeah I get it, it's something I want to sink time into, just hard to find the time these days, wish I could be a full time DJ lol

Im certainly no full time DJ. In fact, when I last invested large time into my DJ setup tagging files etc I was working a full 40hr week job where I still had to travel 1 hour to and from work also, had 2 young kids which required a lot of time and still had a social life with parties every few weeks and small gigs and weddings to run but was still able to find a few hours a week to sink into building a part time DJ system on the side and also develop a part time business doing freelance work on top of doing music production in the small spare time I had between sleeping.

The one thing I was not doing at all for years was watching TV or using my phone and rarely would I just take a break. It's amazing how many hours you can find in a day when you really apply yourself but as I see with my kids, the second most people are even remotely bored, out comes the phone and all your free time is down the drain.
