Learning MIDI in Reaper

Hello everybody, I am using Reaktor in Reaper and trying to assign MIDI controls to the knobs of my KOMPLETE A61. Learning works fine when I open Reaktor as a standalone, but it does not work in Reaper.

Specifically, I am trying to assign the cutoff frequency of a filter to a knob, and it just does not work. Interestingly I accidentally pushed one of the keys of the keyboard, and the learn worked: the filter was opening more or less dependind on the velocity.

The "control" option is enabled in the MIDI preferences of Reaper.

Any help is welcome :D

:O The software can detect the velocity that you push the keyboard key with?? Do you have a gaming keyboard?

OH.. you mean the piano keyboard on the.. I'm an idiot. …I was curious what you were up to, because I also have Reaper. :)

I'm an extreme newb at music production, but I was a "sound guy" for years and years. I'm pretty sure that you have to daisy-chain the midi inputs and outputs to get everything to behave together. Like so:

    [Komplete A61]————[Reaktor]————[Reaper]
    In Out In
(I believe the keyboard USB is automatically a MIDI Out

..but then again, I'm not really sure why Reaper would need to control the keyboard at all, if you set the MIDI learn in Reaktor, I would think that would be correct. Did you open the Reaktor interface from Reaper, and do the learn process there?

Again, I'm a complete newb at music production, and this is the first time I've used USB MIDI, but I got my MPK Mini up and running on the first try.. so..? I do have one idea! Try doing it first in Komplete Kontrol! As I recall, Komplete Kontrol should have auto-MIDI settings for your keyboard, and it should have some instructions in there to make sure you're doing everything you need to in order.. a, b, c. If you can get it to function with Komplete Kontrol, then Reaktor should just fall in line after that, right? :)
