“I can't use the S61 to midi learn on ProTools”

I don’t have Protools but surely if you have MIDI in for playing instruments and MIDI sequencing then you should be able to also get MIDI from the knobs to map to params? What’s stopping that working?

I think Avid stopped it working.

They want to sell more control surfaces, so don't let any MIDI controllers control audio plugs.

There used to be a workaround with M-Audio keyboards (driver) because AVID bought M-Audio years ago, but AVID took the driver out on the last ProTools update, so no more workarounds.

There was a great little app called 'Mulligan' that could do all the midi mapping, pretending it was the M-Audio keyboard to ProTools, so now he is trying to re-write the program, I am guessing with another driver.

VI's are fine, any MIDI device can control software instruments, normal audio plugs are a no go. Except Fabfilter for some reason.

Just trying to add as much info as possible for someone else reading this in the same boat!

My Avid Command8 only works when I run ProTools in Rosetta mode (for intel translation), When I go Apple silicon native version of PT, the command8 driver has gone too.

    I had 20 years out it ;)

So, buy an Avid S1 or forget it!
