Anyone have tips or advice on Maschine cpu issues?

Nice it looks as if the M1 chips live up to all the hype, apple put out.

Thanks I will give it a try. Is either sample rate easier on computer performance?

For example would 48000 be more processor intensive then 44100? Or is the difference minimal?

huh, that’s news to me.

I guess that’s why Apple limits which computers can upgrade to the latest OS.

Does upgrading to the latest OS somehow slow down the computer? Or are the negative effects more subtle?

the mention of 48000 and 44100 or again 96000.

if the sample rate is set to 48000 within the Daw... but a sample being used on a pad has been recorded in 96000 then a conversion process takes place... this is added stress upon a CPU... and the micro-seconds albeit the milli seconds of conversion across the sample.. can have a delaying effect or what we hear as crackles on the output... this is tied with a time delay which is a result in some cases due to a conversion process...not always mind you...afterall if your CPU can cope with conversion and maintain the processing of audio output... then we dont hear the crackles

that said... by limiting any conversion process by setting every sample rate as the same(OS/DAW/AUDIO INTERFACE)... it takes off any unnecessary stress from the CPU... especially so if your CPU is considerably low in performance

in relation to stress on cpu vs sample rate... yes... there is a correlation between the higher your sample rate the more work the processor does
