Hello, I can't install the Komplete Kontrol update, since my anti-virus reports a

Drop.Win32.WinSelfCopy.41099

issue. Does anyone else have this and can confirm?

That's almost certainly be a false positive, assuming you're installing from Native Access. Which AV are you using?

I'm installing using Native Access. My AV is F-Secure.

Does anyone else have this and can confirm?

My AV is powered by F-Secure as well and I have had the same problem. It's almost certain a 'false positive' which N.I. of course ought to get fixed by getting AV manufacturer to update their software.

As you can see from the response from Mert_NI then N.I. is on the case and will hopefully get this issue solved ASAP. (incidentally then as far as I know then it's no use to add the KK app to the exceptions list it will still trigger as long as the AV component that it triggers is turned on)

leaves the possibility that it isn't a false positive. Perhaps NI could put some sort of explanation in Native Access around false positives. Who is responsible for this, NI or AV companies, I couldn't say, except that in my case, I trust F-Secure after many, many years of using their products. Also, FWIW, in my experience false positives are rare. Let's see what happens in the next few days.

It is a 100% false alarm.

Tested on AVAST Premium Security and Norton AntiVirus Plus.

It is incorrectly detected as harmful, most probably because its code or behavior resembles some known harmful program. Upload it to F-Secure and on next database update the issue will be solved.

Or, perhaps you are using some "paranoid" super-high detection mode, instead of the Recommended? Unless you are a bank or some big multi-national company, you really do not need to do that. :-)

Well, what can i say…

Doubting the experience of thousands of advanced users who use Komplete Kontrol (for example, i am dealing with Windows since 1998 and on a semi-professional level since 2001 and last time i had a virus problem was…. can't even remember… 15 years ago or so), is very understandable.

But, doubting the results of 2 of the major professional security suites (AVAST Premium Security and Norton AntiVirus Plus) who are both better than F-Secure in general,

which by the way (F-Secure) is really famous for its false positives since years (only Microsoft's crαp and Panda were worst),

I find your approach to me arrogant and unnecessary. All I'm doing is raising the possibility of an issue. I'm not doubting NI. Why should I? BTW, if you judge credibility by years, university/music 1975, Windows 3.1. Teaching MIDI technology 1987. I was given Cubase 1.0 by a Steinberg staffer in 1989. Lecturer in Computing. Perhaps my Microsoft qualifications don't mean anything? You have no idea as to my background, experience and knowledge. I'm 67. I'm really scratching the surface here. Why do you treat me with contempt?

My wife's in hospital with heart problems and I'm at home waiting for a call. I thought I'd divert by looking at Komplete updates. And I get this ******. Give your condescension to someone who appreciates it.

I will not reply as your unprovoked hostility deserves to someone who only tried to informed you with facts that you have nothing to fear by update Komplete Kontrol, out of respect to your wife's situation (my best wishes by the way, honestly and unconditional), since i know well human pain and anxiety…

2 days ago i buried one of my best friends and my mother is in the hospital too with zero hope to survive… But i don't use this as an excuse to attack others and blame them with imaginary accusations… I am 59 by the way… and i really don't care about your background… i can write a huge book with mine, but i don't advertise it.
