Any way to still use the original S4 in 2025?

Hello!

For a long time ive been saving up for a traktor S4 controller. Finally I could find a good deal on a used original S4. However, when I try to use it on my computer (M1 macbook pro) It refuses to get recognised. Online I read that it is due to no compatibility with the newer Apple chips.

I was thinking to run or dual boot with windows on this computer. Would that be a fix? Does anyone have experience with getting the S4 to work through dual boot or parralels?

I really hope someone can give some nice tips as I spent my last money on the S4 and i am ashamed that this didnt get into my research :(

Anyway, hope to hear something!

You cannot dual boot Windows on ARM Macs. And even if: As far as I know there is no ARM version of Traktor for Windows. As already stated by @mykejb drivers are only available for x86 Windows.

Best option for is to sell your S4 Mk1 and use the money to get a S4 Mk2 or Mk3.

It's unlikely to work with Windows dual booting on an M1 Mac as the drivers are unlikely to support ARM processors.

Parallels won't work either because there is no ARM version of Traktor. Your hardware is 32bit and your software is 64bit…
