Mac System Data Too Large

I know this is more of a question for Apple, but perhaps some have experienced and have found resolution to an issue I'm having.
Recently, when attempting to update Maschine 3 for the User Chords functionality, I noticed I was unable to complete the update due to low disk space?!?
Odd. I JUST finished wiping and fresh installing my entire catalogue of music production plugins and content. I quadruple checked availability at the end of this process and had more than enough disk space to complete numerous Maschine 3 updates (approx. 2GB) to say the very least.
When tracking where my disk space was being used, almost 200GB of System Data usage! For comparison, this number should be around 7GB with a fresh 15.4 iOS install.
Needless to say I am perplexed and, short of downloading a Third Party app, I'm not sure I know how to go about isolating the bloat and ridding my HD of it.
My preference is to forgo anything Third Party for memory management. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

As far as the 200GB of "system" storage - have no idea - that is an Apple question and does not sound reasonable in terms of storage.
Here is a good link to check:
How to clear System Data on Mac: 7 tips
And - do note that every update that comes from Native Access - needs 3x the space advertised. If the update download is a 2GB:
- 2 GB for the initial download
- Another 2 GB to unpack the 2GB Download (which is almost always an ISO/IMG file)
- And another 2GB to actually install the update.
The prior 4GB will get auto cleaned after install - but this is why most Mac users (due to the tiny drives shipped with a device) almost always use external drives for this type of storage.
So if you are trying to jam 2GB worth of Maschine updates onto that Mac Mini - whose total space in just 8GB - you can see why you are out of space.

If you want to look where the space has gone grab a copy of something like DaisyDisk - that will show you all the hidden areas and let you delete stuff that's not needed.
