It is compatible. If it is useful…it’s up to you.

Maschine 3 at the moment doesn’t offer too much imo and has some hiccups. If the few new functionalities are of your interest and you are ok with the issues it has, then it is useful for you.

I use the maschine studio, it's very useful and I love it. Most controls are available straight on the controller, reduces my need to use shift controls and the mouse/keyboard. Currently works perfectly, screens are great and no lag or strange behaviours

I have the Studio and M3. It works very much the same as M2 on Studio. The ability to be able to import Mp3, FLAC, Ogg etc is useful. Remember, if you create in M3 you cannot then work on the track in M2 (always save a different "version" if you start in M2 to then use in M3). I have found M3 to be a touch glitchy, the GUI is not to everyone's taste. Although I do feel the VST look much better when using the mixer. If M2 is working well for you then the need to update/upgrade is not really needed, but as I said seems to me to work very similar if you decide to try it. I decided to try it as I felt the cost was competitive enough to warrant it. I was very disappointed that NI said Studio was still supported, then as soon as they release something like the Custom Chords function it wasn't actually supported. It has made me wonder if NI will continue to release updates that aren't functional with Studio.
