How to change the "Native Instruments" folder location of Kontakt 8 Player on OSX?

When I open Kontakt 8 Player on OSX, it always creates a "~/Documents/Native Instruments" folder containing a "Kontakt 8" folder containing the folders "ir_samples" and "presets".

I would like to use a custom location for this instead, such as "~/Documents/MusicLibraries/Native Instruments". Can I change this and if so, where / how?

I've already managed to change the "Native Instruments/Edited Samples" location to another directory, but couldn't find a way to change the other two locations…

I do not think that can be changed internally. And even if it could - I would be wary of the next time you install a Kontakt instrument -OR do a Kontakt update - that the default folders locations get changed back again - and then you may find yourself with a real mess.

Thanks, then I'll have to be content with the way it's organized currently for the time being… What I don't get is why Kontakt 8 Player has a setting to change the Edited Samples directory location then, but no setting to change the other directories…

I think the bigger question is - does it really matter? This is probably this way - programmatically - for a specific reason - one that only NI can determine.

Me - I tend to leave all things that are pointed to the system drive alone - and take control of those locations that I need to manage.

Did you try to alter the Non-player path also ? Don't know how it works just tossing in an idea , also don't know what the setting 'relative to non player' have of consequence for how Kontakt stores stuff

Otherwise , I don't know either if one can dig into Kontakt files and alter behavior but I am not particularly interested in spending time digging into it either.

@Vocalpoint if it's the system drive of course; but in my case it's a folder in the Documents folder of my user.

@PoorFellow Thanks for the suggestion, I have already tried to alter the Non-Player content base path as well and also tried to check the Store paths referenced in host projects relative to non-Player content base path, but the folders are still created.
