beat match with the transportation strip

Hi,
I would like to understand better how to beat match with the traktor s5 which has no cogwheels but the transportation strip. When I beat match with this strip, the tempo doesn't stay matched but slowly moves away again. Do I need other settings in the preference section? I made the strip to high sensitivity (like 100%), and the tempo range to 20%.
Can I use the master button for one track and match the second to it? Or no master at all? Thank you for support
hope U will understand, my english is not so perfect :)

the touch strip is like a jogwheel, so it "pitch bends" the tempo, like speeding up or slowing down the turntable platter temporarily. You need to set the pitch the same for both decks, either using the "sync" option, or using the pitch faders. After the pitch is the same tempo, you can use the touch strips to speed or slow down the track temporarily to get the beats "in line"

thank you. it's really strange without tempo faders. the traktor app has them but not the console

the S5 is meant to be used with "sync", so more for very strict 4-on-the-floor music with tight beatgrids. I can imagine you could map a rotary controller to change the pitch, with a key combo (i did this with my X1 mk2 so i can adjust the pitch if the sync is not working perfectly with less rigid music)

Even when you use sync, sometimes you want to change the bpm. The x1 can do it with default mapping. (sync + rotary knob)
Is there really no way to change BPM on the s5 with default mapping?
@miss is pirate I assume you have checked the manual? I scanned it very quickly for you but could not find it.

Use the button below the cog wheel symbol on the left hand side of the display. (Of the four buttons left of the display it is the second from above.) Push it once and the displays shows BPM. You now can adjust it in 0.01 steps with the Browse knob then. Or in 1 BPM steps if you push shift while using the Browse knob.

I wonder why seldom people read the MANUAL.
Don't consider this a critique. It's just a missed opportunity, NI's manuals are excellent; mostly.
