Maschine MK3 stuck on "Production and Performance System" screen.

Maschine MK3 stuck on "Production and Performance System" screen. I've connected to root USB port on my Windows 10 computer and used power adapter and this screen won't go away. A few times it would boot properly but then hang and not respond. I know the USB is connecting properly using USBview utility, it shows successful connections and error connections. Very cool tool. USB is working but the main processor won't initialize. FW is up to date at 1.4.5. Any ideas maybe to force a FW update or something?

make sure you are not connecting to a USB hub… and that you are connecting directly to the USB port of your computer

If MK3 remains stuck on that screen even when Maschine software is running, usually (specially lately) the culprits are NI Agents not running in background.
Check point 4 of this support article:

Regarding the hub…I have seen this suggested a few times. Why? Things work when plugged into a hub…. I've always run it connected to a hub and it has always worked… until it didn't.

Point 4 in LostInFoundation's post fixed it for me.
Edit: It only temporarily fixed it. My MK3 is still freezing either on the splash screen or after when in use. The NIHostIntegration service keeps shutting off, too. If the MK3 is working and then freezes, the service is stopped and turning it on does not fix the problem. Fun times.

why?
a port can only only supply X amount of amps or milliamps… this varies depending on USB port type and the power draw a unit like the maschine mk3 will use…
this is not entirely a major issue if you have powered USB hub, but even powered hubs reach a limit
if you begin seeing the LED coloured pads begin to dim & strobe… you are reaching the power limit, and you run the risk of damage occurring with either the port or the devices that are on the hub that are power hungry
do a search on the USB port types and their power output

Thanks for the explanation.
I think your explanation is better guidance than the initial directive to "make sure you are not connected to a USB hub." The hub may not even be the problem at all. Especially if no changes have been made to the hub prior to the hardware freezes.
Even if the hub was the problem, knowing why is always beneficial.
Thank you for educating me. Much appreciated.
