Key menu needs redesign

VirtualDJ has menu like this for every deck

With addition of stems in Traktor this could be really useful for making on the fly mashups.

I think this could be a killer feature and it's not hard to implement since Traktor has excellent key detection already.

In Preferences click the Browser Details tab.

There is a drop-down box to select how key is shown. This works pretty well for me using the color adjacent keys option, so that I can quickly transpose for more track options. Of course you need to have the Deck you want to match selected.

Only color matching keys helps always find something that works right away.

I doubt there will be much development focused on your idea. Even though it is a very good option to add. Hopefully this helps if you were not aware of it.

    • Do not color any keys: When selected, the Browser will not color any key.
    • Only color matching keys: When selected, the browser will color only matching keys. This is the default setting.
    • Also color adjacent keys: When selected, the Browser will color matching keys and the immediate upper and lower semitone in its respective color.
    • Color all keys: When selected, the Browser will highlight all keys in their respective color.

Second and third option will only work when the following conditions are met:

    • One of the track decks needs to be running and be the tempo master. Matching and adjacent keys will be measured off of this track.
    • The deck needs to have KEYLOCK enabled.

Are you using Beatport or Beatsource streaming for your tracks? If so here is a very long post I made a while back about that. My last comment on the thread has some of my theory and my workflow for key.

No streaming, I have all songs locally. I like aforementioned method with colored keys but option I suggested is level up in comparison.
