Maschine mikro mk3 not working mac m2 pro

I bought a new Maschine Mikro MK3 and connected it to my Mac M2 Pro. Of course, I carefully followed the instructions:

  • Connected to a USB 2.0 hub, MK3 is visible in the system overview
  • Firmware update completed, MK3 is visible in the update tool
  • Checked the compatibility of Sequoia 15.3.1
  • I tested the device on a different computer (also Mac M2)

Please help.

From what I see, it gets installed when installing Maschine and Komplete Kontrol

Did you try reinstalling also Maschine software?

What exactly is not working? When you open Maschine software the Mikro doesn’t get recognized?

Have you tried connecting it directly and not through a hub?

I plugged in the MK3 directly in my Mac and also tried other cables (and an other mac)

The NI controller software doesn't recognize the device, it does not show up as midi device on my computer aswell.

However, connecting with the firmware software does work.

Check if the NI Agents are running in background (point 5 of this Support article):

    https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410096148113-My-Native-Instruments-Hardware-Device-is-Not-Recognized

This is something that lately gives this kind of issue to users

Btw: with “NI controller software” do you mean Controller Editor?

And also: you didn’t answer what happens when you open Maschine software

When I open controller editor, the connect button is gray (I cannot connect).

There is one NI agent runnen, should that be two?

Yes. If I understood them correctly, NIHardwareAgent is for the hardwares connection, NIHostIntegrationAgent is for the programs that hosts/are hosted in the plugins world (like Maschine or KK)

Follow the instructions in the link I posted

The NIHostIntegrationAgent is missing and if I want to try to add it manually it's not on my disk, I tried to reinstall everything and the NIHostIntegrationAgent is still not there. I can't find a way to download it manually.

This is the folder where it should be:

I needed to buy Maschine software first and the agent was installed! And it works, very weird that I need to buy software first to get it working...

If it was a new m mk3 , you should have got the maschine software free , did you register the serial number in native access? Even if it was a second hand unit , you get maschine 2 free either by a software license transfer, or by contacting support and showing them proof of purchase, a maschine 2 license would then give you a path to upgrade to maschine 3

Some people have had a delay in seeing the maschine software in native access after registration, because originally it came with maschine 2 , but now come with maschine 3.

You should probably contact support, find out what’s what , you could probably get a refund

I did indeed buy a new one and entered my serial number. I'll check if I can get my money back.

Thanks so much for your help!

No problem, in that case you should definitely be able too . On a side note check your junk mail for confirmation/welcome email , sometimes things get diverted to that

You’re welcome…but…don’t be so ready to spend your money so fast…😶

Maschine software is indeed included with the hardware as ALDREAD told you.

In my very first post I even asked you “When you open Maschine software the Mikro doesn’t get recognized?”

I thought you meant the drivers with this, I did this after your post. But apparently, I misunderstood.

I only use the Maschine as a MIDI device, so I didn’t think about the software, which I actually don’t need.

    Thanks for thinking along!
