Hi there, we have received an order in which 13% Tax has been charged. I have been trying to find out what Native Instruments Canadian Registered HST number is so we can claim our rebates on our end. I have emailed, faxed, called with no luck. I am hoping someone can provide this number. Many thanks Sharon

Anytime I have claimed tax rebates - it's MY registered company GST number that goes into the income tax form - not the numbers from all the companies I would have purchased from over a given year.

A typical tax year could engage hundreds of vendors - it would be impossible to get the registered GST numbers for each one of them.

If it's like the UK you need to have a VAT receipt from the companies you buy from showing the VAT number before you can claim the VAT back. You don't have to give the VAT number to the tax people, you just have to have it on the incoming invoices in case you get audited. Of course, Canada might be totally different :)

Hi Jeremy and thank you so much for your reply. I called, emailed I cannot even begin to tell you how many times, tried faxing to two locations with no luck. As indicated, I am looking for Native Instruments Canadian Registered HST Number. 179.27 13% tax was charged on order number 8783199, we require the HST Number so we can claim the rebates on our end. Usually, the HST number appears on the order/invoices but in this case it did not. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sharon

Maybe a stupid question , but does N.I. even have a Canadian branch ? Besides maybe a distributor of some kind ?

This page shows no Canadian branch but does show VAT number for Germany , UK and France.

@Jeremy_NI , sorry I meant to quote you not choose right answer (Though your answer is rigth-ish in this case since support will have to assist SharonP getting what she need)

I just located this , (Appear to me that the US then must be point of sale Tax wise ?) :

Hi again, here in Canada we do have foreign companies who charge Canadian HST on their invoices however they must have a registered Canadian HST Number to do so. If there is no registered HST number then HST should not be charged.
