Microphone Low Output

Hello,

Just purchased a Traktor Kontrol S3 and the Microphone output is extremely low, almost unusable.

I am using an Shure SM58 mic and cannot use this controller with such a low mic output, I have the Master volume, the fader on channel 4 and the gain on channel 4 all maxed out and still the mic output is too low.

There is also a slight delay in the mic audio.

Very unahappy right now with this hardware.

Using Serato DJ Pro latest version.

I read your post and did not see a solution for the "microphone" output.

Yup. After following past discussions in this forum about a solution to this problem, i have come to the conclusion that there seems to be none, although i am unable to actually test an S3. You could ask @pixel or @Quade how they handle the low output.

    Good Day

Unfortunately, NI team does not seem to be interested in resolving this low audio issue us users have been experiencing regarding the Traktor Kontrol S3 DJ Controller.

When I am using the device, I have to crank the Main volume 3/4 from full before I get adequate output. My gains I have to set around roughtly the same, while having to monitor the Limiter on the software, not to exceed the output meter and start experiencing audio crackles.

Unfortunately, nothing will be done. We as S3 users are stuck and will not get any further attention anywhere near resolving this.

I will keep my thread up-to-date should I receive any updates.

    Best Of Luck

Even on the s4 mk3 the microphone was low. At first I tried with a well used Shure SM58. Way too quiet, even with max gain. I ended up buying a cheap no name microphone and that worked better.

I've had the same problem with S4MK3 und a Shure SM58. Tried a different Mic but was also to quiet. At last I got a used cheap Focusrite Scarlett Solo Mic Soundcard which solved all problems and sounds much better than the S4 microphone input.
