RX 11 Elements installation errors using Native Access (Mac Sonoma, then Sequoia)

Hi all,

I'm having multiple problems trying to get RX 11 Elements installed on MacOS Sonoma, then on Sequoia. I'm really hoping someone could help so I can actually start to use this. Been trying to troubleshoot since Jan 25.

Here are the problems I think I fixed, all from knowledgebase or community forum suggestions:

-Added full disk access for Native Access & NTKDaemon

-Added Avid Pro Tools (apparently iLok gets mislabeled as this), AvidLink, Native Access, and PACE Anti-Piracy, Inc to Login Items

-Changed path for installation of RX 11 Elements

-Uninstalled and reinstalled RX 11 multiple times with restarts, both using the instructions in Native Access and the RX 11 uninstaller (once I noticed it)

-Uninstalled and reinstalled NA

-Moved (manually) RX 11 to the Applications folder from Library→ Application Support (wasn't able to change the path or get NA to recognize where it was after Refresh; no option to Repair came up at that point as the KB article suggested)

-Upgraded from Sonoma to Sequoia once I saw on the Izotrope page that Sequoia was supported for RX 11 Elements

-Manually added serial number to NA

Things I haven't tried:

  • Reverting back to Sonoma and repeating all of the above
  • Figuring out how to add Local Network Access per the KB article
  • Tried to work with NA1 (currently have Version 3.17.0 (d0b7b7b / 1.23.0.0)
  • Tried to install through Izotope (seems to not be supported anymore)

I've heard that RX 11 is the best standalone editor for voiceover, and I'm really hoping I can get it working.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Michelle

Sorry; my son (also a support tech) suggested I be more clear about the problem:

It doesn't seem to be installing correctly—I can't find it under Applications or searching in Spotlight after running the installer.

The reason you can't find RX Elements in Applications is that unlike the Standard and Advanced versions of RX11 it doesn't include the standalone application. Elements only has the plugins which you'll need to run inside a DAW or plugin host like Wavelab depending on what you're using it for.

You can find a version comparison chart here - https://www.izotope.com/en/products/rx/compare.html

Ah, I wish I had understood that! I'm really new to this and was just acting on the recommendation of a more experienced voiceover person who didn't know which version she had. The last I read, the de-clicker and de-esser plugins weren't supported with Audacity—is that still the case?

That I don't know as I'm not an Audacity user. I'm sure someone else will know the answer though. As always "not supported" isn't the same as "doesn't work", so the best idea is to give it a try!
