Z1 MK2 - crash after Traktor Pro 4 startup

hi!
I have an issue with my z1 mk2: Traktor 4 (4.1.1) crashes every time I connect the z1 mk2 before I fire up Traktor. When I start the software without the z1 mk2 everything works fine - until I plug the z1 mk2 in.
What strikes me as odd is that the two z1mk2 tabs in the settings menu don’t show up when the device is not connected. Once I do connect it they pop up (but Traktor crashes shortly after).
this issue only occurs on one of my laptops. Namely on the one that I usually use the z1 mk1 with. The z1 mk1 tab is also always available in the settings menu on that particular machine.
when I connect the z1 mk2 to one of my other laptops that I do not use the z1 mk1 with (obviously that laptop has no z1 mk1 tab in the settings menu), the crashes do not happen and the unit works superbly.
so my uneducated guess would be that it has something to do with the z1 mk1.
has anyone encountered a similar problem?
Thanks for your assistance in advance :)

I think you could have a point in thinking the MK1 (drivers?) could be interfering.
But also Sunborn could have a point: being the Z1 not only a controller but also an audio interface, it could cause problems if connected after Traktor is already opened (but should not crash it).
In the second laptop the crashes don’t happen also if you connect it AFTER?
One thing I would try is to open Traktor, set up the MK2 as the audio interface (so that it will be remembered), close Traktor, reopen it and plug the MK2, to see if the crash still happens.
And also the drastic “uninstall MK1 drivers” to see if something changes

The controller should be connected before you start Traktor, not after.
Also make sure that its control panel it is active in your taskbar.
