Dear folks,

I noticed that Windows defender every now and then comes back on. And it interferes with my doftware. Not with KONTAKT. But does anybody know how to switch this irritating thing off?

Please advise,

For that, you need an extensive knowledge of Windows Group Policy Editor (which is not available to typical Home users, if i remember correctly) and full admin rights.

Or, you can use an tweaking application to do the job for you, easily.

I recommend (and i guarantee for it) the excellent (and free) Winaero Twеaker, which i also use for almost a decade now.

There is also an article about your specific issue, here:

However, before removing the Microsoft cr*p, make sure that you already have a serious and decent (and less intrusive to your choices) antivirus (but never have them both installed, it might seriously slow down your system)!

    Hello

It can definitely be frustrating when Windows Defender keeps turning back on, especially when it interferes with your software. To permanently disable Windows Defender in Windows 11, you can try the following steps:

    1. Open Windows Security: Press Windows + I to open Settings, go to "Privacy & Security," then click on "Windows Security."
    2. Access Virus & Threat Protection: In Windows Security, select "Virus & Threat Protection."
    3. Manage Settings: Under "Virus & Threat Protection Settings," click on "Manage Settings."
    4. Disable Real-time Protection: Toggle off the “Real-time Protection” setting. Windows will warn you about turning it off, but you can proceed.
