Arturia V Collection 10 upgrade issue

I bought V Collection 9 (VC9) from Sweetwater. NI site suggests that I pay $299 for a new V10 (VC10) license instead of the $149 upgrade price. The disclaimer says I must have V9 to upgrade using the $149 price point, which I do - it's registered and active.

If I have my serial info from VC9 can I still buy the VC10 upgrade at $149 from NI even though the NI suggestion engine says I have to buy VC10 full out?

We have the information below , else I think that you have to ask N.I. or Arturia , but as far as I can see then if you qualify then the serial ought to work in the Arturia Software Center , at least that is the impression that one gets here.

    PoorFellow to the rescue!

    Seem pretty straightforward to me:

Should be able to get this straight up from the NI Shop.

Curious to know where you are getting $149.00 from as NI will never have a better price that Arturia themselves.

Here perhaps ? , reference down the page :

Im in exactly the same situation had Arturia V collection through many versions updating every year, and now using 9. Because I was loyal and bought from Arturia direct if i want to upgrade to X its 299 on their site

For my sins Ive been equally loyal to NI for years and spent thousands with NI , but because I bought V 5/6/7/8/9/ collection from Arturia I do not qualify for the NI upgrade of 134.50- what price loyalty !!!

This is all clearly explained above.

The new serial you get from NI goes into the Arturia Software Center (or your "online" Arturia account) - and off you go.

Yup , my sentiment exactly , as I wrote "as far as I can see then if you qualify then the serial ought to work in the Arturia Software Center" , when other people are spending money , especially €150, then I just like to take that precaution

Ok thanks for your time and information. It looks like I would qualify. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't tossing $150 into the abyss.

I looked at that too - upgrade price was £134 from NI, $299 from Arturia. The original 'special offer' upgrade price was $149, which personally I didn't think was actually worth it as the Augmented instruments don't appeal to me and seem out of place in a 'vintage synth' collection.

You make a good point mykejb. I really only need the Mini Brute and TB303. I'll wait for a sale on that, and wait for D16 to put a sale on Phosycon 2. Yeah, I think I've cooled off on the upgrade. I allready have a CP-70, I"ll never use the augmented woodwinds, piano, or brass since I have NI Komplete. And whatever tweaks they made to the existing soft synths, I'll probably be the only one to notice it in sound design anyway so…

This is not a compelling enough upgrade for my specific needs - even at $149 and especially at $299.

Especially with V Collection 11 on the horizon (Spring 2025).

I did not bite on Collection X either.

Quote mykejb : personally I didn't think was actually worth it

Quote VP : I did not bite on Collection X either.

Neither did I bite and I didn't think it worth it either. And not only that then I also think that Synthx V is not in the V Collection X either . So to me it's basically like they want to sell me an upgrade that is already incomplete at the time of sale.

On a side note then I would like to add that I saw that Arturia gave a price guarantee to people claiming that they would never sell the upgrade cheaper than at the at that time offered price - as if that is ever going to make me buy if I will already not buy :

    Quote : Arturia’s Pricing Policy
During a promotion or a special offer, you might see a 'Best price guarantee' tag, which means we will never go below this price. You are guaranteed to buy the product at the best price you will ever get.

Saw this today too. Still not biting :)

I have enough instruments right now that I don't use :)

Yeah that's the usual lowest special offer price for people who skipped the $199/$149 special offer prices. Happens every upgrade cycle pretty much. I'm thinking about it, not sure there's enough to justify it at the minute though.
