Have an MK3 and thought it came with free software

Hi everyone! I was gifted an MK3 about a year or two ago, and I’m just now getting around to setting it up. I was under the impression that it came with Komplete Now software, but since I only have the hardware, I’m a bit confused about what software I need to download. Could someone clarify what’s included and how to get started?

In reading through the community chat - I'm noticing a lot of ppl say Komplete Select comes with the MK3-but unsure of how to proceed. Thanks!

I'm noticing a lot of ppl say Komplete Select comes with the MK3

The Maschine MK3 sold now appear to come with "Komplete 15 Select" but I am not sure if it did so per standard previously. But it should probably have come with at least the Maschine software. But it doesn't come with any software unless you have the device registered to your account .

If you were gifted the Maschine then the person giving it to you should given you a transfer ID so that you could transfer the hardware to your own account. If you do not have a transfer ID and you have not transferred the hardware to your account then ask the person that gave you the Maschine to make a transfer ID and to give it to you. I am not in N.I. support but usually then how it works is that if you have no transfer ID then N.I. support will ask for a purchase receipt as well as a picture of the serial then if they can help depend on the exact situation, and if you have neither then I don't know if they will be able to help but you can still ask support if they can help.

All such issues are handled exclusively by N.I. Account Support , contact N.I. Account Support with proof of purchase (if available) and a picture of the serial on bottom of device and explain the situation

As for software in general then anyone can get Komplete Start for free and anyone can of course buy the Maschine 3 software at the N.I. shop or check if they can get the Maschine 2 software secondhand (N.I. Forum Buy / Sell / Trade) .

if it was registered to a previous owner, you need them to transfer the software license for maschine 2 and any associated libraries/software

If it was never registered then you’d enter the serial that came with it in native access and it will allow you to download the software

Before maschine 3 was released, A maschine mk3 came with maschine 2 and the full maschine library, and some plugins like monarch and massive fm8
