So when i hit the S5's shift button, it takes me to the template screen, the same as if i press the gear button next to the screen. I can not do things like delete cue points! PLEASE HELP!
This dude has the same issue and the discussion was closed, WITH NO RESOLUTION!!
Hello,
maybe the button that normally brings you to that menu (+shift) is stuck. You could also try to delete all mappings and devices and add the s5 again. But I would say you have to contact support in this case if that all does not work. Here in the bottom of that page you have to be logged in:

I just checked this on my S8 and it works as expected. Does the same thing happen with both the left and right shift buttons ? As @Uwe303 says, it could be a stuck button or a problem with the mappings. Do you have another computer you could try it on?
The S5 doesn't even offer mapping capabilities. Problem is that pressing the Shift button enables the MIDI mode and not offer those default features that live in the Shift layer…
yeah, it's definitely not a stuck button. Its stuck in some strange mode, and really that's the only thing that is not fully functional. it happens on both sides of the decks… and you can remap basically each button, except the shift button…which means trying to fix it with a mapping is a no go. This has to be a bug in the firmware. I also can not reach support AT ALL! ****** NI!!
i also tried on multiple laptops and different OS installs. same thing and same between traktor 3 and 4.
