Free GB required for upgrade from Komplete Collector's 14 to 15 ?
I have around 150GB free on a 4TB disk with Komplete 14 Collector's Edition installed, and I'm considering upgrading to 15. Wanting to know if the the 150GB will work for the new install. I tried going to the Komplete Collector's page and clicking "What's New for Me?" but the list just goes on and on, with no indication of the storage involved. Thanks for any info!

Short answer: Absolutely not.
You need about 1.5 Terabytes of space.
150 Gigabytes of space are not enough even for the Standard edition, you need about 350.
Note 1: Of course, you can choose to not install everything, at least not at once. You can leave out some monster-size Kontakt libraries. This is a smart choice because since you bought them there will always available for you. You can install them months later, when you will get a larger disc! π
Note 2: However, you should consider that you already have a lot of stuff since you own v14. Some libraries will be the same, some others, updated. But the updated ones, they will replace the older versions. So you will gain lot of space without sacrifice any of your 150 Gb.
So, i suggest that you go slow. Check what is already installed and update it. Then install the new software and leave the libraries and expansions, last. Probably you will need to leave few of them for the futureβ¦

In short and a very rough number then 0.3 TB (~300 GB) (could be more like 0.2 TB , don't know)
I attempted to try and look it up yesterday but found no reliable compare.
However then today then I suddenly remembered that I had run a TreeSizeFree on my drive back in July 2024 and then taken a screenshot of that with the tree unfolded. That enabled me to run TreeSizeFree again and to at least some extend compare results. The difference in Terabytes were 0.3 TB (~300GB) between K14CE and K15CE. However this is a very rough number which only tells that it were more than 2 hundred GB and less than 4 hundred GB, also then I noticed that some of it stems from updated libraries that got bigger (e.g. Choir Omnia were 4 GB bigger now) , and also I had added at least 17 GB of other third party content which ought not be counted.
The greatest single K15 new space hog is the Fables library which takes a whopping 53 GB on my drive. Since my screenshot does not cover libraries smaller than 29,3 GB , which is most of the new in K15 then that is hard to compare for me but I can share a screenshot of some of the overview of installation size with you then you can compare yourself with the content of the page What's New in Komplete 15 . I haven't checked what if any were removed from K15CE compared to K14 CE if anyone would want to remove anything π€ π π

Thanks, Sunborn. Wondering if anybody that has done this could tell me approximately how much more disk space the new version took?

Already told you that.
This is the full download size.
But when extracted and installed to disc, it takes approximately 1.5 Terabytes (1500 GB)

That's for a new install, right? I'm wondering how much additional (over what's already being used by 14) to upgrade from 14 to 15 (Collector's Edition).

Yep, that's for a new install.
and yes, i understand what you asked but i'm afraid you will never get an answer on thisβ¦
the thing is that, even if someone was "nerdy" enough to sit and calculate such things, the result would be valid for his system only⦠different systems - different installations - different results
differences can vary from 2-3 Gb to hundreds of Gb⦠it is like a lottery to guess an exact result (that will also match with your system) but, good luck anyway!

I am just a firm believer in guarding my privacy by not revealing more (personal) information than I have to in a given situation. But otherwise I agree with the hahaha (ππ ) . π π
