CPU up to 100% on new laptop, only on Traktor
I've recently upgraded my windows laptop, and Traktor is now not working since i installed it - the CPU shoots up to 100% as soon as i open Traktor. It looks to be a windows process Service Host: Capability Access Manager thats causing the problem. It doesn't happen with Abelton or any other software i have installed. If i shut Traktor the CPU drops to 10%. Any ideas on how to fix it? If i disable the process all the icons disappear from the taskbar so i don't think thats a soloution
Thanks

Try to disable (Off) microphone access for desktop apps though windows 11 microphone privacy settings.
It was a problem i have reported a few years ago in the old forum.3

I believe this service (camsvc) is usually to do with permissions (in particular for MS Store apps), so can you check Privacy & Security in Windows Settings, in particular the Microphone page? Make sure you have Microphone Access and Let desktop apps access your microphone enabled.

I have like 25 - 50 % CPU usage when no audio device or headphone is connected. As soon as I plug in my headphones into the laptop 3.5mm port, or connect a controller the CPU usage goes down.

With an idle cpu usage of 10% the first thing I would do is find out why this is the case. Either the hardware is very old or there may be another problem.
Unfortunately we have to guess because you didn't tell us your hardware or exact operating system.
If the laptop is new, have you already fully patched it and installed all the required drivers?

Thank you - this really does seem to have sorted it!

Thank you (for the report) was the response from the NI staff back then, four years ago. They ended up deleting all the posts, including the temporary solution, along with the old forum entirely, leaving this bug—like many others—in the dark and unresolved, as they usually do.
Let’s hope they won’t delete this one too. Easy solutions, right?
My pleasure, mate @PaulWatson1
