Problems with connecting Kontrol S88 MK3 with Cubase 14 Pro
Not sure exactly why this is happening, I've filed a report with Steinberg and still waiting for a reply.
I have absolutely no problem with Cubase 13 Pro connecting to the Kontrol S88 MK3. But when I load Cubase 14 Pro, it seems like the drivers are not working correctly. I did notice that under Cubase 13 Pro I have under Midiin 2 (Kontrol S88 MK3) as the setting, and Midiout 2 (Kontrol S88 MK3). But under Cubase 14 Pro I instead have the 3 following selections: Kontrol S88 MK3 Daw, Kontrol S88 MK3 Ext, & Kontrol S88 Mk3 Main as options. I have tried all three and the Kontrol S88 MK3 does not connect with Cubase 14 at all. I am not sure why I am seeing different drivers names between Cubase 13 and 14. But the ones on 14 are not working right now. And I have the latest firmware update for the Kontrol S88 MK3. I also have updated Windows Pro 11 with latest drivers. And the following: Kontrol S88 MK3 DFU and Kontrol MK3 ODR are both listed under the Universal Serial Bus devices in the Windows Device manager. Slicked on both and Windows says these are the latest drivers. I had run the Native Access and downloaded the latest Hardware Connection Service which is 1.8.7 and it still does not connect to Cubase 14. Running the KSMK#_Updater_3_24.0_Win installed and rebooted the Kontrol S88 MK3 successfully and it showed the latest firmware as 1.8.7. But again it does work perfectly Cubase 13 Pro but not Cubase 14 Pro? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well I have tried two other keyboards, and they both have the same problem. They work fine in Cubase 13 Pro, they do not work in Cubase 14 Pro. So evidently the problem is with Cubase 14 Pro, not sure if there is another setting they have added that gets it workin, but I have not found it so far. Got everything set up just like in Cubase 13 Pro, so this is a head scratcher.

I have an issue like this with my NI S88 MK1 keyboard. When I load a Cubase 13 file in Cubase 14 Pro I can hear the midi and can add midi on an excisting track. When I add a new instrument I hear no sound and cannot add any midi on that track. I can see the midi indicator on the lower right of the main screen react on midi data. When I use a vst with a keyboard screen in it (like Falcon) I hear a sound while manualy using the vst keys. Something seems to go wrong with midi on new tracks.

Looking further for the solution for NI S88 MK3 not working with Cubase 14 I found the answer & fix in the Steinberg forum. A kind fellow called EmilStudio has posted the following:
This solution from NI forum (S88 MK3 and Cubase issue - Page 2 — Community)
WORKED!!! for fixing the auofocus:
To fix the Komplete Kontrol/Kontakt “Autofocus” problem in Cubase, proceed as follows:
Open the VSTI Kontakt plug-in window, click “Function” menu (arrow at the top right of Kontakt window) or right-click at the top of this window and select “Remote Control Editor”.
Then in the window of “Remote Control Editor”, click on the small arrow (secon icon) at the top right to select “Get Default Factory Layout” and click the big button “Apply” on the same line.
At this time, “Autofocus” works. Then save the project. The cause of this problem is when the Komplete Kontrol/Kontakt reference named “NIKBxx” is no longer assigned to the first “Knob” on page 1 in the “Remote Control Editor”.
This worked perfectly for me. Hope it does for you as well.
