Will there be a version 2 update to Maschine+ or only a version 3 upgrade?

    It seems there was another shuffle in teams and responsibilities, so maybe @Chris_NI could shine another light on this topic and question, too.

    I’ve seen many “ @Chris_NI ” lately, starting from the ones by @Matthew_NI … but… his presence is still MIA.

    And his records for posts in 2024 isn’t promising:

    3 posts in January, 1 in February, 1 in September, 1 in October.

    That’s all. The guy doesn’t seem very loquacious

    Exactly…

    Do we wanna be positive and think he is working so hard on our Maschines that he doesn’t have time to even have a quick look to what users say? (Btw: not even connecting a single time after a major release of the software he should be leading now)

    Even if this was the case, this sounds a lot like a good representation of NI’s way of working: doing things “for us” without caring of the things we would like them to do… the perfect receipt for a failure…

    But maybe they want it to fail…so they will be able to say “our data collection says Maschine must be abandoned”. Which would also explain the poor release of the “major” Maschine 3 update, with so little to offer…

    @Chris_NI is out sick this week. Some grace please. He is leading Maschine and Kontrol now, and lots is coming soon. You'll hear from him once he's back in the office.

    can everyone just please calm their tickles a bit? We got it confirmed that they’re working on the M+, yes we have to wait, yes the new guy hasn’t been in touch, but it’s on its way. Peace

    And yes, I do feel empathy for people being sick or to busy at times. But the initial question could have been answered by you, @Simon_NI , @Chris_NI or any else at your team allowed to inform the community.

    I'm a bit confused. Maybe I missed a message (I get hundreds) but I've been on the forums pretty consistently most days/weeks for months now talking about what we're building, how it's going, and when it'll be ready. I've talked about the Maschine updates in a bunch of places. Oh well

    This ‘question’, so the first post started this thread, and the third post tagging you.

    I really do understand you can’t answer every single topic, but IF you step in then please take the time to answer the question, too. You are or were on the product team, so I think you should know IF the promised update for version 2 is still to be expected any time soon.

    As first thing I want to clearly state that your presence is very appreciated. You putting efforts into all of this is obvious.

    That said, it is also obvious that the questions that get answered are chosen (which is also understandable, nonetheless frustrating).

    No, you didn’t miss a message. You missed MANY.
    “Casually” all not favorable to NI.

    And I’m talking about you just because you are so brave to put your face. What we should say is that NI is reluctant in being completely transparent on difficult arguments (once again, understandable…but not appreciated).

    And what irritates users the most is being ignored.

    I surely appreciated more some honest “No. we won’t answer to this” you gave in the past than talking about a “missed message” and pretending that the answers we don’t get are due to this (cmon…it’s an insult to our intelligence…).

    Also ending the message with “Oh well” can be seen like a little insulting…

    As it gets often answered to users here, we also “understand the frustration”, but…

    I know we could sound just like demanding users (some lately loves to call us “entitled”…), but…let’s be honest:

    NI seems to always prove that they think that leaving things messed up for years is ok, that users must digest everything, that when it comes to their duties they can act as they want…

    The only way we have to show what we care about, to have our voices listened, to be taken in consideration is to express it. And when it is ignored, to repeat it. Over and over, since it’s not taken in consideration. Or it gets “missed”…
