No Sound in Maschine 2 Software

Hello,

I get no sound when opening up Maschine 2. I´ve got my Maschine MK3 connected and it did work on my old PC.

I reinstalled the ASIO4ALL driver and selected in the preferences. The program works normal and I see that it should make a sound but it doesn´t. I don´t know what to do.

ASIO4ALL was designed to add a hacky ASIO support to motherboards internal interfaces that didn't have ASIO, it's a very oldschool thing, any semi-modern computer should have decent drivers to beguin with so theres no need for it in todays age unless you have a computer from 2003 or something.

Use the real ASIO MAS-MK3 drivers if you want to ear audio thru it, or…

    @LostInFoundation sad:

One case example: to use the computer speakers without having to plug external, bulky speakers in order to even listen to anything.

In that case you can just use your computers built-in interface/drivers.

Maschine MK3 has it's own audio system and drivers!

So, why on Earth are you using this horrible, low quality ASIO4all??? 😮

Btw: Maschine “Studio-grade audio interface” isn’t of such a better quality anyway…

@Clemjens: have you checked that also the routings (ins and outs) are set up correctly? Or opened Asio4all settings to see if everything is alright?

Well said D-One. There's no need for ASIO4ALL in that situation either. Maschine runs just fine for onboard audio without it.

    When it’s possible, of course.

But even you had to write “SHOULD have decent drivers” ☺️.

People nowadays buy 300 bucks laptops…not so sure those will have decent drivers or decent audio interfaces.

My example was in every case answering the “why” compared to using MK3 audio interface.

But…yeah…I was wrong not suggesting the computer could have better internal options than Asio4All. My fault

I don't think anyone's saying a cheap laptop will have a decent audio interface - just that even at a basic level, it will come with an OS and onboard audio, and that audio will provide sound for software that requires an audio output. There's no need to involve ASIO4ALL.

Actually the ASIO4ALL site these days just looks like a host for generating income from ads. It's unfortunate that the name persists around the internet, and people still download it in the belief that they need it.

The good news is, Microsoft are working on making ASIO native to Windows (about time, right?).

It will be for ARM64 PCs first (their new pet project) but will cross over eventually.
