So, after 15 years of being a dedicate NI Maschine user, you're now booting me/us out basically…
Pretty rotten thing to do if you ask me.
You'll surely not make another €/$ from me anymore!
And I'll never make any "promo" for any of your products any longer, that's for sure!

Quote : Ending software support for earlier generations of Maschine

Quote : We want to let you know that Native Instruments will soon be ending software support for Maschine MK1, Maschine MK2, Maschine Mikro MK1, and Maschine Mikro MK2.

Quote : You will still be able to use your Maschine hardware with Maschine 2 software, which includes Apple Silicon and VST3 support. However, from November 6, 2024 we will no longer be maintaining this hardware and cannot guarantee that it will be supported by future versions of your computer’s operating system. It will also not be compatible with new updates to Maschine software.

Quote : The affected products are only the MK1 and MK2 generations of Maschine, which were released between 12 and 15 years ago. For an electronic device with desktop computer integration, this is quite a substantial age. And as mentioned, the main reason for us to retire them is to allow our software products and technologies advance to a degree that we could not do whilst still supporting those devices.

Quote : How long will you continue to support the current Maschine MK3 and Maschine Mikro MK3?
Maschine MK3 and Mikro MK3 are the current generation of our products and we have no plans to end support for them anytime soon.

heres a time line of maschine hardware products on,
which hardware will be on the chopping block next LOL

Here is a list of Native Instruments Maschine hardware models in chronological order, based on their release dates:

    1. Maschine MK1 (2009)

    • The original Maschine hardware that introduced the concept of integrating a software-based groove production studio with a hardware controller.

    2. Maschine Mikro MK1 (2011)

    • A more compact and affordable version of the original Maschine, offering similar functionality with fewer physical controls.

    3. Maschine MK2 (2012)

    • An upgraded version of the original Maschine, featuring improved hardware, RGB pads, and better workflow enhancements.

    4. Maschine Mikro MK2 (2012)

    • The MK2 version of Maschine Mikro with the same enhancements seen in the full-size MK2, including RGB pads and improved hardware.

    5. Maschine Studio (2013)

    • A flagship model with a larger controller, two color screens, dedicated control buttons, and more advanced features aimed at professional users.

    6. Maschine Jam (2016)

    • A unique, grid-based controller focusing on step sequencing, performance, and arranging tracks in a different workflow compared to other Maschine hardware.

    7. Maschine MK3 (2017)

    • The third major iteration of the flagship Maschine controller, featuring larger pads, touch-sensitive knobs, a built-in audio interface, and high-resolution color screens.

    8. Maschine Mikro MK3 (2018)

    • A simplified and more portable version of the MK3, designed for beatmakers who need a smaller and more affordable controller without sacrificing core functionality.

    9. Maschine+ (2020)

    • The first standalone version of Maschine, capable of running without a computer. It includes the full Maschine software and many sounds from Native Instruments, making it a fully portable production system.

Incorrect - Maschine and JAM are still supported and will work with Maschine 3.

Exactly - I would ask everyone to please read the announcement as it explicitly mentions which products are reaching end of support.

I think it would help if the announcement also explicitly states the models which are still supported.

Otherwise customers get the impression their models were forgotten.

For folks who bought cross grades of komplete ultimate with a mk2, can we sell or get rid of this hardware now or are we still expected to hang on to a no longer supported bit of kit to satisfy the cross-grade discount?

How much support will be available for the mk3 and Jam?

Would like to know in an effort to be rid of this old unsupported hardware and possibly move to a different platform.

All models not mentioned in the end of support notice are still supported.

I currently use Komplete Kontrol Mk2 to control Maschine software. Will this still be supported with Maschine 3.0?

your question surrounding the Komplete Kontrol Mk2 is an interesting one… as the question that arises, will be ….will the Maschine 3.0 be integrated into either the Komplete Kontrol Mk2 or Mk3….

as it currently stands only the Komplete kontrol Mk2 still has maschine 2.x software integrated, as far as i understand, limited or otherwise!

I actually have a Maschine Mk3, Jam and S61 Mk2 working together. It is a superb way to work with Maschine. Will be sad to see the S61 Mk2 out of the loop. Fingers crossed.

I'm surprised they didn't do this after announce a Maschine Mk4, I wonder if new hardware was intended to release with 3.0 but was delayed or cancelled.
