Upgrading to an older version of ultimate from a newer version of Komplete standard?

Hello,

I currently have KOMPLETE 14 STANDARD Update.

I have seen someone selling Komplete 11 Ultimate fairly cheap on eBay and was wondering if somehow I'm able to upgrade to 11 Ultimate as this would still come with quite a lot of additional instruments than what I currently have.

My previous gateway products into the NI ecosystem were:

KOMPLETE 12 Upgrade KSelect

The only real way to find out is to log on to your account and go see if it's available for sale. I doubt that you can buy any version prior to 15 through Native Instruments anymore, but you need to see it for yourself.

If it's not available in your account, then it's not available from NI at any price, and I've never known anybody to be successful at negotiating any special discount from NI.

This would not be an "upgrade" .

You would simply buy this license and it once it appears in your NI account (assuming the seller transferred it to you) - it would simply appear as another license in your account.

Once there - I would assume anything that comes with it - if still supported/useable today (K11 was a long while ago) - should be able to installed and used.

But buyer beware - without a valid key transferred and confirmed to still work in Native Access - this is a nothing burger.

I would get NI Sales on this before making any moves.

Immediately then I'd have to say that you can not do that.

The only Komplete bundle type that would possibly allow you to use a newer version number as base for an upgrade to a higher tier of a lower version number is Komplete Select , e.g. like upgrade from Komplete Select 14 to Komplete 13 Standard upgrade for Select.

For using a Komplete Standard bundle as basis for an upgrade to a higher tier then you would have to upgrade to a version number equal to or higher than what you have , e.g. upgrade from Komplete 14 Standard to Komplete 14 Ultimate upgrade for Standard or Komplete 15 Ultimate upgrade for Standard.

As already pointed out by BIF then N.I. does not sell versions of bundles or software other than what is available in the shop , meaning that usually then as soon as the newest version is published then the previous version is removed from the shop and are no longer sold. Of course not counting such software as e.g. Maschine where N.I. may still sell upgrades to a previous version of software other than newest.

I not being a N.I. employee and not having any contact what so ever to those in charge of any of this (N.I. Account Support ) then of course the possibility do exist that I could be wrong with respect to the upgrading possibilities from newer version numbers to older version number higher tier, though I seriously doubt that I am. However then please feel free to have my assessment confirmed or disproved by contacting N.I. Account Support and ask them.

The over all problem is that N.I. a while back allegedly changed their policy with respect to the upgrading from newer versions of Komplete Select to older versions of Komplete Standard (policy allegedly changed from not possible to possible) , but not even that have I as a Moderator here been able to get confirmed from anyone else that I have asked directly. The message is that you have to ask support. Further more then every time that the 'contact support' has been given as advise then not even with respect to the Select bundles did anybody ever return and confirm anything. So trying to get any information on any of it for certain for a Moderator such as I up until now has been somewhere between hard and impossible and would require me to open a ticket of my own to inquire which I have to say that I refuse to do unless that I have a valid reason of my own.
