Why is Komplete download so slow?
I just updated Komplete. It's been downloading all night, and is still not done.
Doing a back of the envelope calculation, I'm getting maybe 50 Mbit/s download. My connection is a usually reliable 1 Gbit fiber connection.
I'm on the West coast of the US — are the files all stored in a single server in Germany or something? It feels to me as if "downloading lots of large files" has been a solved problem for the last 15 years already…

Well the first question to ask is what level of service are you signed up for with your internet service provider? Most offer higher levels of service depending on what you're willing to pay for. I personally signed up for 1GB/s service, but you won't always get a full 1GB/s speed depending on how busy the network is, but it should be around 860 b/s at least. But that's just a portion of the problem if you use a WiFi router that's older and doesn't support higher speed mesh networks. Inside my house I have a router that provides 5G Mesh along with WiFi 5G Mesh networking boards on my computers. Oddly enough I don't really have any slowness downloading even very large libraries.
