Traktor 4 sound quality issue

Hello

I recently update to Traktor 4 from Traktor 3 and i am recently facing some strange sound issues.

Une issue is that some time music is crackling

And some times , randomly , playing is slowed down also with sound issues

I iuse Traktor on a Win11 , Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10510U CPU , 16Gb Ram , Traktor S2 MK3

Never esperienced this issues before Traktor 4

Any advice to resolve the problem ?

Thanks

Are all sound drivers and all drivers in general up to date?

Are the latest drivers installed for the equipment you are using?

Does this also happen if you close all other programs and only Traktor is running?

Have you tried increasing the buffer size a bit?

All drivers are up to date , redownload drivers again from NI ( but there is no update in the last 4 years drive rdate 29.10.2018 )

Also checked the firmware of my device , update package tell me i have a newer release installed

All program are closed except Traktor ( and with Traktor 3 i had no issues )

Buffer size , no i have not tried to do this

increased buffer from 256 to 512

Little less but problem is still present

Okay, if the normal standards don't help, maybe support should take a look.

Some systems are just not good at doing real time audio (out of the box).

It's a Windows 11 PC, but what exactly? Which make and model?

Some computers come with "bloatware". Has this been removed? Have you done any optimisation for audio use? Have you run a latency checker?

He says in the first post that everything still worked with tp3, and the hardware is also listed there and is easily good enough. 😉

I also checked in the "Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 - Control Panel"

    Drop-Out detection : no Errors

System Performance Test : latency is in the green zone

    Paramters atm are:

    Sampe Rate : 48000

    Process Buffer : 512

    Usb Buffer : 4 ( default was 3 )

    Hey,

I have the same issue. It occurs the most when plugging in a turntable for a DVS setup.

I had macbook briefly, and never ran into any issues, but on Windows, this happens at least once each week. I have a freshly installed, de-bloated Windows 11 with WiFi turned off, and an increased buffer. All drivers are up to date, and Windows is only used for Traktor.

Not sure if this is a Windows issue though, I have a small sample to go by.

setting the power mode to high performance and disabling the wifi adapter are the 2 biggest factors that generally affect the issues you are having (along with making sure you are using the asio drivers with enough buffer)

    still worked with tp3

But TP4 is not TP3. Presumably 4 is bigger and more resource hungry than 3 was, so…….just because the system worked with 3 doesn't necessarily mean it will still work with 4.

Hello AndreaNet, sorry for the issue.

This can be related to several issues. First of all the buffer size on the Audio Setup of Traktor. Some users have it really low so the CPU cannot handle it. We recommend using 512 (I guess this is already tried but) or 1024.

Unless the computer is really powerful, we do not recommend 128 as it is normally too demanding.

Also, anything below that is not recommendable as Traktor only supports 128 samples and above that.

We also have some tunning tips to optimize the performance on Win, can you please check this Knowledge Base Article:

    https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/209571729-Windows-Tuning-Tips-for-Audio-Processing

    Please let us know.

    I hope this helps☺️

Is the issue happening with all codac types? I had a similar issue in the past but it only effected .m4a files.

The only other thing I can suggest is, backing up traktor library, clean out any junk/temp files from system then reinstalling traktor pro 4, as a last resort.

Hey @AndreaNet try turning off TPM from the boot manager. I've turned that off and looking through the latency meter provided in the NI guide I was able to ramp up pefrormance.

I don't think reducing Windows security is a good idea.

On my thinkpad it works with BitLocker, all Windows 11 security options enabled, WLAN and Bluetooth enabled, and also Intel 11 Gen.

II would first use latencymon to see where the problem is and then you can always take further measures.

It was the reason for my Lenovo with a Ryzen cpu to glitch randomly audio every hour or so. But this is the know bug on Ryzen CPU. Don't know anything about Intel.
