how to record vocals in maschine software?

Ok I need to record vocals and I have before but for some reason its not working anymore and I can't remember how I got it to work before,

can someone please assist me?

im not sure if its bc I just updated after while but my mic has signal. it just used to be so sensitive like I cud knock on the mic or speak normally and hear very clearly now I can barely hear anything.

I can hear my beat playing through the headset so I'm so distraught rn bc I can't record new music and I cannot afford a new mic or interface especially when I know they both work fine. I feel like its something with the update.
