I've had Kontakt 5 Komplete for a long time and would like some guidance on moving it to a new computer i assume i still need to install Native Access first and then the newest update. I'll move the Library HD to the new computer and need to point it to that instead of installing that from scratch. If I can get some guidance on this and some links that would be helpful

    Hi Gerry,

Im not sure if you mean Komplete 5? There are quite a lot of help documents on NI website if you have a peruse around. Assuming your product is still able to be reauthorized, yes everything is done through NA and you would need to install it.

What I mean is I'm using the Komplete library with Kontakt 5 soft synth, which I also have Kontakt 6, which was a free download. Is there a link to Native Access? If I install that. will NA then do the rest?

Hopes that some of this helps :

On the new computer then you should be able to click the three little dots right to the install options (in Native Access) and there select Locate ,reference : Reinstalling a Komplete Bundle Without Re-Downloading Kontakt Libraries

if you are moving stuff from one location on a computer to another location on same computer then these could maybe help :

Using the Repair / Relocate All Function in Native Access

I downloaded Native Access for Windows. It looks like it's Native Access 2 - Native-Access_2.exe. I'm using Win 10 with native Access and am moving it to a new Win 11 computer. Should I use Native-Access_2.exe?

Confusing as it is then Native Access 2 by now is only a name and the version number of the newest download ought to be 3.13.0 when installed despite that it is called Native Access 2. Unless you are using a legacy OS then what N.I. recommends is to always be using the latest version of Native Access. Reality be though that while N.A. auto updates then mishaps has been seen when N.A. updates but you still need to use latest version because N.I. ties the install-ability of every new product or product version together with user having to have the latest N.A. (client program) version.

    P.S.

Specifically for old legacy software you might actually have to be using an older version of Native Access for either installation or activation or both , I simply do not know what requires what and what does not. But there is an option in the setting for newest version of N.A. to show legacy software so maybe try that ?

    P.S. 2

You do not mention OS used but if you are using Windows then here is a link for the Kontakt 5 installer : Kontakt 5.6.6 PC only

This will be a WIN 11 computer, so after installing Naive Access. Will it automatically alert me to

Kontakt 5.6.6 PC only to install. or do I do that separately?

Separately ! . The installer I included link for I only gave in case that you had a problem installing it using Native Access but even if you should use it then I think that you would still need to activate Kontakt 5 using N.A.

I neither have Kontakt nor Windows 11 so I can not say how it installs other than I did through my previous post and here (as far as I know then there do not exit a list over that and also it could change without notice any time).

Generally speaking though then for any 'legacy' software to show in Native Access then you might have to turn on 'show legacy software' in settings then if it shows Kontakt 5 in N.A. after turning that one and restarting N.A. then try using that for both install and activation , else you could use the installer linked to and then see if you can activate Kontakt 5 with N.A. or if you need an older N.A. version for installation. I am sorry for not being more specific but what specific info I have is only what I can pick up here in the forum and as written then even what used to be valid information can sometimes change at N.I.'s. discretion. N.I.'s Jeremy_NI knows a lot more than I and we can call him if you have trouble installing following my advice or he might step in himself at any time if he thinks it appropriate.

Generally though then using something as old as Kontakt 5 might be less than optimal unless that you for some reason needs it. Many newer libraies require the newest version of Kontakt to be used. Also if the Kontakt libraries that you use all are licensed then you can use Kontakt 7 Player version which is free to download once you get through N.I.'s providing a download link.
