Feature Request: Add MPC60/SP1200 Sampler Engines to Audio Module
This shouldn't be too difficult an ask. Please add the same MPC60/SP1200 engines to the Audio Module. You don't really hear the effect of these engines until pitching up or down a loop. The Audio Module is great as it keeps the loop in sync but I have to convert to Sampler to use the SP1200 engine which then ruins the loops perfect tempo from the Audio Module.

Resample with desired bpm, then change to sample plugin.

I do that now hence the feature request. It would make life easier if they simply put those engines in the Audio Module.

Ah, I didn’t even think that as an option. My bad.

I wonder if they could be added as a new module. I assume they change the behavior of the sampler as you modify settings. Move all of the parameters to a new module that can be chained in however we see fit. It could then be similar to the TAL DAC plugin.

They should look at how RX1200 do it. What would be great is if we can change the RPM (i.e to 45RPM) - then be able to pitch down. You only really get that crunchy ringing sound if you pitch down. Being able to change to 45RPM would mean we could pitch it back down to the same speed as the original sample and still get that feel/effect.
What I've been doing is using RX to pitch down - then either using RX and sequencing in Maschine - or resampling all pitched down sounds into Maschine - the chopping them and spreading them across different pads in a new group.0 -
Great idea. I like the work around you stated as well but it could be a upgrade for the audio module

retro engines in need of an update :)
I think that audio module capability should become part of the sampler module, not the other way around…
There also needs to be a group level set of parameters that apply to all the sampler modules, like pgms in the MPC. I experiment with tuning chopped samples a lot less because I always need to “select - all” and deselect again (and then the select button also somehow starts to default to “multi” which is annoying when going right to the browser to pick out a few sounds…

i have to check out rx1200. How does its sp1200 emulation sound compared to Maschine?

I'm no expert - but I think it sounds better. And much more flexible. You can sculpt the sound in many different ways. The fact that you can change RPM then pitch down, gives it that SP sound too. Mapped some settings to MK3 controller which gives a great hardware experience. Plus it's great if you want more that 16 samples in one group.
I also use it with a LaunchPad Control XL midi controller + MK3 - this gives you a taste of the SP experience by using the faders to pitch samples. It's a powerful combo - the RX1200 with Maschine.
Also got the RX950 - an FX plugin that can be added to any track/group, and is a really good emulation of the S950 crunch and vibe.1 -
Here's a little test for you to listen to. No added effects or changed settings (except RX950)
Will keep this up on Soundcloud for a few days.
Drums -Nate Smith 95BPM
1 - Original Loop
2 - Maschine S1200
3 - Maschine S1200 L
4 - RX1200
5 - RX1200 (45RPM - pitched down)
6 - RX950 (adjusted settings to show what's possible)SP1200 Emulation Test - Rhodes - 80BPM
1 - Original
2 - Maschine S1200 (tune: - 5)
3 - RX1200
4 - RX1200 (45RPM - pitched down -5 - so plays at same tempo as original)
5 - RX1200 (pitched down: -5)Compare 2 & 5 - to hear the differences when they're both pitched down by -5
The advantage of RX1200 is you can pitch it down to same tempo as original and get that crispy ringing sound.
Whereas in Maschine you can only pitch down - no way to pitch down and play back at original tempo.

Just lower the sample rate to get the effect of „45RPM - pitched down -5“.

you can also pitch it up, resample it with the Maschine S1200 effect on, and then pitch it back down

The SP950 plugin by wavetracing also deserves to be mentioned as you can slap it directly on any sound in the sampler module. Also has the pitch down emulation and a great filter to mask the ring (which is actually how most people did it)

Or you could use NI Freak (I think that’s the one, I always mess up those names of the distortion bundle).

That would be cool. I am expecting they merge the audio and sampling module in Maschine 3 to streamline these processes
