Updating Komplete 8 plugins?

I have Komplete 8 on a PC and I haven't run the updater program in quite a few years. Could I run into any problems? My account seems fine, all products still listed. Probably not an issue but I've had update problems with old and new software before.

Do not remember there ever being a Native Access v2.6. I am thinking you still have Service Center installed.

SC was the "old" licensing app - going back to the late 200x era and it's infrastructure is now deprecated.

Native Access is the much newer app. There was v1 introduced about 5-6 years ago and v2 came out in 2022 - with v3.13.0 being the latest and greatest release in the last two weeks.

Unless you actually haven't purchased anything new from NI since the K8 days - you would have no issues updating what you have (VIA the latest Native Access) as long as it's just updates to an existing version of something like say Kontakt 5.20 to Kontakt 5.6.

But know that any changes to a system that old could bring oddities and issues along for the ride. If you value your creative time more than troubleshooting - I would stand pat.

I looked up the product listing for Komplete 8 - and most of it (if not all) is retired and unsupported now. Probably not worth the effort.

Well, it depends…. What Win version are you on?

More important is what version of Native Access?

If you are still rocking v1 - prepare to be disappointed depending on what updates you might get - which due to the long passage of time since K8 may not even be a thing anymore.

Its Windows 10 and the Service Center is v2.6 which actually wont connect. I remember now it did that a while back and just left it alone. I see there's a new Native Access program that only updates Komplete 10-13. If it's not worth updating individual VSTs I'll just leave it be. I just don't want to do anything to keep me from using what I have. Upgrade to 13 maybe if I start using it more.

Thanks that's what I figured. Same issue with my Cubase 6 that won't install anymore. Stuck with free Cubase AI 9.5 from a keyboard bundle. I'll be back to trackers and then my 4 track soon.

If you want/need to update Native Access v.1.xx (you would find it under legacy SW) would be probably better than NA v.3.xx. But it might stop working soon (within months)…
