To verify, I installed komplete kontrol 2.9.6 (without downgrading the drivers), which resolved the issue. :-)

@moai Is this happening when browsing through Kontakt presets or also other instruments?

@Kirderf-73 @Kinya @Thusis How many presets do you have? Is it also slow for non Kontakt instruments?

    @Jeremy_NI thanks for prioritizing this.

I have 37000+ presets and the preview slowness/latency happens to all instruments (including non Kontakt instruments).

When I did the downgrade to version 2.9.6, everything went super smooth again, so I will stay on this version till the issue is resolved.

I also notice that the preview in Kontakt 8 Player has the same latency issue as Komplete 3.

@Jeremy_NI maybe I should add that I run Komplete Kontrol in Windows.

Could this issue be related to only Windows users?

Yes it's been reported by Windows users only, at least so far!

Happens for all presets on my side, I have a lot of NI and third party presets and seems to happen the same regardless of the brand.

I would like to add that I updated to KK version 3.3.3, I got some new NKS instruments, I rebuilt the database multiple times, and I also installed the Kontakt 8 Player. For some reason I got it working a bit better in standalone mode some days ago, but I'm not able to reproduce it again and the issue persists :(

I send you a quick video of the issue, running on KK standalone. I navigate first with the mouse, then switch to keyboard navigation, from minute 00:45 onwards I do intervals of 5 fast presses on the keyboard to navigate down, and from minute 01:11 onwards I do intervals of 10 fast keystrokes on the keyboard to navigate down, you can clearly see how it struggles to navigate. You can also see that the subset of presets does not change the speed, i.e. for Slate and Ash I had only 31 presets and the navigation speed was the same as in previous subsets:

All above problems describe exactly the same problems I experience. I also have a lot of presets, 42478 in total. Komplete Kontrol Version 3.3.3 is still very slow during previewing. Changing presents using the presets keys on my Komplete Kontrol S88 is also annoyingly slow since the Komplete Kontrol software updates. The cause is definitely related to the software because my hardware never changed and the problem occurred after an update!

Same issue here with 3.3.3 except I'd say lag is about twice as bad as the YouTube video shows. Slow browsing both Kontakt and non-Kontakt libraries.

~125k "official" presets, another ~125k via user libraries added.

Not just Windows though - I am on M1 Mac Studio Ultra. No issues on 2.9.6 so will need to move back to that for now it seems.

Kontakt 8 (full) is a little better… although I think still behind KK2.9 in terms of responsiveness. have not added all the user libraries to that yet though.

@Jeremy_NI I uploaded a video of my Laptop with Standalone KK and my Desktop with KK in Studio One doing similar tests, I also printed the keystrokes on the screen to give you an idea how much delay is happening during navigation. I added the hardware details on the previous video as well.

Laptop Standalone (notice the first keystrokes did not work, that also happens from time to time, to fix it I needed to change the brand selection):

Desktop in Studio One in a real session with some instruments already loaded previously. Notice that in this case, pressing 5 or 10 times in a row direclty skips to the last preset (Komplete Kontrol skips 9 presets if I press a navigation key 10 times, directly playing the last one). This does not happen in Standalone mode:

    Desktop Standalone:

I would like to add, as @TallerThanPenguins said, that sometimes I experienced around twice the lag you can see on the videos, but also sometimes half of it. As I said in previous messages, I can't find out the reason why sometimes the lag is increased or decreased.

Have anyone tried to turn off the audition preview in komplete kontrol? I believe there is a shortcut key on the MK2 and MK3.

Please verify anyone if the lag/slowness disappears. I’m on version 2.9.6 and not able to test.

i realised exactly the same. My assumption is as someone else already stated this doesnt happen when you browse with MK3 on the Keyboard. But like that its not usable for MK2 Users and in general in my oppinion as you want definetely scroll fast with the arrows through the presets. I guess there is an issue in the USB implementation perhaps the software waits for communication of the MK3 firmware to the software and of course they have no KK3 version for MK2 users. Actually this shouldnt be too complicated to debug in my oppinion…
