Too old, too new

So, I got tired of Maschine hanging on my Mac Mini and old Macbook Air and not being able to purchase a version of Logic Pro that would run on my hardwarre. So, I spent a fortune and bought myself a new laptop. Macbook M2.

Now I find that I'm not able to load Battery for example, as my hardware is too new! Maybe Battery isn't happy running on M2 hardware, Is it me? WTF. Really pissed to have dropped two grand and still not be out of trouble.

Is this a thing or just my teething problems?

You ought to also mention at least both OS and Battery version , anyway even though if others are using Battery on Sonoma (going with what it says on your profile page) then it apparently is not yet officially supported : Compatibility of Native Instruments Products on macOS .

On Battery and Sonoma then latest news I were able to spot is this from June 2024.

Battery has been working for other users. Could you give more details of what's happening? Do you get an error message?

Hello, sorry for the delayed reaction, busy at work.

So, are we saying then that if I drop another 100 quid on the Battery 4 upgrade it may not work on Sonoma? I am a beginnerwith all this, I don't mind paying for stuff I just want it to work so it doesn't confuse the heck out of me when I try to get working on the M32 or Macshine Mikro 3.

Am I right to assume you were still on Battery 3? That will definitely not be supported in a 2024 Mac OS install.

But to your question - Battery 4 is working for many others on Sonoma - BUT is still officially "unsupported" from an NI standpoint.

The decision to upgrade to Battery 4 upgrade is your call.

NI stuff runs poorly on Macs imo. I know I am going to incur the wrath of their mods, but it’s true. They also take forever to update for OS changes. Between that and Apple selling laptops spec’d like it’s 2010, it’s a real mess.
