Native Access 2 cannot download *any* files - 'download failed'

So I've had the much older Native Access app for my FM8 and Massive synths for a long time. Decided yesterday that I wanted to buy the 'CYCLES' plugin from Slate and Ash. Found out it runs on top of Kontakt 7 player, and so was prompted to update my Native Access app to the newest version (3.12.0). I'm on a MBP M1 running Sonoma 14.5. Now, I cannot download anything at all. I've scoured the online forums for all the similar 'Download failed' errors, and have done the following:

  • Tried changing file paths - no difference.
  • Tried adding Native Access to 'Full Disc Access' - no difference
  • Tried adding 'NTK DAEMON' to 'Full Disc Access' - cannot even find the daemon anywhere on my disc (but does show up in Activity Monitor
  • Tried installing a older version of Native Access - still no help - stuck at 'queueing'
  • rebooted, repaired permissions, deleted/reinstalled the newest Native Access - nothing.

So now I'm forced to ask Slate and Ash for my money back, and am considering deleting for good all my NI products - because this level of crappiness is something I haven't encountered with music software since the dark old days of the early 2000s….

So - should I go ahead and delete all (and get my money back), or does anyone from NI have any solid instructions that are guaranteed to work?

Hello Remoteworker, sorry for the download issue.

If you are receiving the "Download Failed" error message, please perform the following steps:

    1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click [your name] at the top of the sidebar.
    2. Click iCloud on the right, click Private Relay, then turn off Private Relay.

Also, please make sure that you give the Full Disc Access to the related applications, here is the Knowledge Base Article that can help you with this case:

I hope this helps. Please let me know if the issue persists, so I can create a support ticket for this issue☺️
