Traktor Pro 4 & Legacy Traktor Kontrol Controllers

Hey all,

So my question is simple, does Traktor Pro 4 work with the now Legacy Traktor Kontrol S2 MK1 ?

    AFAIK, NI have never stopped older hardware working with newer Traktor. If it works on your hardware/operating system, it will work with TP4

    If it works for you on your computer with Traktor Pro 3 it will most likely also work with Traktor Pro 4.

    I don't have Pro 3, only Pro 2 as I've never got around to upgrading

    For me, Traktor Pro 4 closes when I have generated stems and try to load this track into a deck with the Kontrol D2.

    If I load the track into the deck on the computer, everything is OK. However, the stems are not shown on the D2 display.

    Is this problem already known? Do I need to perform an update or reconfigure the D2?

    With Windows 10 & 11 it's not a problem as everything should always works. With Mac please pay attention to which software and hardware works with which operating system.

    But you can test it first by downloading the Traktor Pro 4 demo.

    Good forum etiquette is to start a new a new thread if you have a new question (or even better, use search first). But yes, TP4 works perfectly with the Kontrol S8. In fact it works extremely well as it has a number of excellent controls for Stems.

    The title of thread is Legacy Traktor Controllers….. So, discussing other devices, than OP asks seems to me just fine. ;-)

    Do waveforms display correctly on S8?

    Waveforms works on Kontrol S8, but every time I load a Stem File I have to press the uper right square little button next on the screen, for sure is a glitch, ironically one of the only 3 Traktor controllers that have full color screens doesn't work at it should. In fact that problem only happens with generated stems on Traktor Pro 4, but if you analyze and create stems by your own, no problem whatsoever.

    Have you used stems in the past?

    This bug has been there since day one (so, ever since the s8 was brand new) and is qml-code related.

    Yes I have.

    When stems were released back in 2014 I think,I bought a bunch from Beatport and had no problems with screens up until now.

    What happens when you load a bought stem file? Maybe you can also test, as i did, with a TP 3 version. All this helps pinpoint the problem.

    D2 (legacy … or was it just way before it's time, lol) user here, Stems wave form doesn't load the first time so I load it again into same deck and it's fine … which sounds like same issue on the S8.

    From what I gather it's a known bug.

    Still have not dragged out my S5 controller to test with TP4 … might get around to it some time this week.
