Turn off auto update for Native Access
I was forced into an update to Native Access 3.12.1 and started getting a new Demo problem which was said to be fixed in 3.12.0.
Can we please have an option to turn off auto updates in Native Access once and for all? It's been one issue after the other for many months now, including NTKDaemon/Installing Dependencies problems, crashes, library loading issues, library relocation issues, and now serial authorization issues. I just want to go back to using the Kontakt libraries I paid for without Native Access breaking.
Thank you customer service and NI techs for navigating these frustrating bugs and for listening.

I made a very easy fix for that (at least tested on Windows) which N.I. do not want me to distribute. N.I. considers lack of updating as both being bad for business (?) and as creating security risks ! . Also N.I. changes everything so much all the time so that some downloads actually do require latest N.A. to work rather than everything will download with e.g. N.A. 2 so they demand that everyone uses latest version all the time.

Hello guys,
As it is mentioned above, as Native Instruments, we don't advise turning off the Auto-Update as this will cause logging in issues, and starting issues on some plugins as they request the latest update.
Even though with new updates, some new issues can happen, our team is working hard to fix them and solve this as soon as possible, thank you for your understanding☺️

Hello TomaeusD, sorry if I have missed this part of your message, if your product stays in demo:
If you have made sure you are logged in with the correct email address, please go to the following directories listed below that pertains to your operating system:
For Mac:
Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service CenterFor Windows:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service CenterThen delete the following .xml files:
Native Access.xml
NAME OF PRODUCT IN DEMO MODE.xmlShould that not help either, please go to the following article and thoroughly go through all the steps to make sure you get the desired result:
Native Access Error Message: "Activation failed...Internal error during activation"
Restart your computer and Native Access afterwards.
If the issue persists and you would still need direct download links, please create a support ticket or open a chat support using this link https://bit.ly/NI_support_NA and our customer care team should help you with this subject☺️

What kind of fix are you talking about? Besides blocking NA via firewall, there's nothing else mentioned in that linked thread.
In the past NI has provided links to download NA1 or special versions of NA2 which don't have auto update turned on, but those were for Mac. Why not allow that option natively (no pun intended) or just provide that as a download option for Windows?

Ah sorry I missed it, you created a mod that still would need testing?
I wish NI would take this kind of stuff seriously, I've already seen many users turned off to Native Instruments entirely and going to other platforms because of the latest bugs and hassles, specifically with Native Access 2 and Kontakt 7.

It only needed testing for Mac since I don't have a Mac. It worked 100% for PC like a breeze, but as written then N.I. considers turning off N.A. self-updating as a security risk and as bad for business.

oh the “security risk” argument is a total ****** smokescreen. It also wasn’t the original argument for why they demand it more an option. The 100% track record over the last 12 months the NA team has for breaking NA with every single update speaks for itself.

I can only say that that and "bad for business" were some of the key points when I were "advised to not share" my MOD by N.I. staff.
I myself think that people, under the circumstances, of course ought to be given a free choice if they want to "update" N.A. or not while being informed of any eventual consequences of not updating.

This doesn't answer my question or address any of my posts - could you please provide download links as done before?
And can you look into fixing the log in issues if that's the problem preventing turning off auto-update?
I don't need to use anything else but Kontakt 6 and NI have stopped supporting that, so it no longer needs any updates. I only ever need to register new Kontakt 6 library serials.
Thank you

I am sorry , but I have to apologize for having let own frustration on the subject allow me to engage into a discussion on the topic which I ought not have done.
As explained by Mert_NI above then : Native Instruments, don't advise turning off the Auto-Update as this will cause logging in issues, and starting issues on some plugins as they request the latest update.
As a Moderator here then I am not allowed to stray off in ways that conflicts with N.I. policies , especially not on key points such as those defined by N.I. as being related to 'business' and 'security'. I will therefore have to close this discussion to avoid it being further derailed. Please accept my apology !
