Hi all

I have been trying numerous times to make Native access to download Kontakt factory Library 2 in a brand new 2TB SSD drive. I have been executing instructions that I read in the ''Knowledge Base'' by creating /Volumes/Sandisk 480*/Downloads etc, and it does not work!

*example

Downloading directly to my computer for small file with default setup work but obviously I need to download in SSD for storage space reasons…

Can someone help please, I cannot figure out what to do at all..Depressing!

Many thanks

Romain

In terms of SSD formats: I have a 2TB ''exFAT'' formatted and a 1TB ''case sensitive journaled'' formatted. Now reading ''Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats'' : ''On macOS 10.13 High Sierra and later, the Apple File System (APFS) format is recommended.'' When I download small Native stuff to my Macintosh HD (APFS) it works so it could be SSDs' format issues as they are not APFS formatted…

It is definitely an issue with the exFat format, it's not supported on Mac and can cause these issues. We definitely recommend installing your content to an external hard drive formatted to APFS.

Please supply all relevant information including computer type , OS version , Native Access version and any other info that might be of help including error messages, an eventual screenshot of problem and what you have done to troubleshoot so far. Or alternatively contact N.I. Native Access and Installation Support right away instead.

You are supposed to be using latest version of Native Access for your OS (unless you are using a legacy OS , Mac 10.15 and earlier / Win 7 downloads) , At the moment then more people have experienced problems with latest N.A. version but unless you are using a legacy O.S. you need to be using at least version 3.8.1 : Courtesy Mert_NI , 11 June , 2024 : N.A. 3.8.1 WIN , N.A. 3.8.1 MAC INTEL , N.A. 3.8.1 Mac AMR (M1/M2/M3)

ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

Disks must be of the correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats

Also here is the link to the Compatibility of Native Instruments Products on macOS page.

Else try resetting the file management paths in Native Access.

Also , be sure to have plenty of disk space on both download drive , system drive for temp space and on Content location drive.

First of all thanks a lot for your time and feedback

( I have to be around on this site for a little while longer before I can post links)

    MacBook Pro: 13-inch, 2018, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports / Processor: 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 / Graphics: Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 1536 / Memory: 8 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 / Mac OS Sonoma: 14.5 (23F79)

    Native Access Version 3.12.1 (762e76a / 1.19.0.0)

I only have installed Native Access and Kontakt 7

I wrote pathways to locations (in 2TB SSD) in Native Access' preferences as follows:

    Download locations: /Volumes/Extreme SSD/Downloads

    Application Location: /Applications/Native Instruments

    Content Location: /Volume/Extreme SSD/Content

When I want to install I get the following message on top right hand side: ''Downloading Expansions Selection failed: Could not create new file or truncate existing file. Visit our knowledge base for more information''

On the laptop compatibility front is should be all good.

    Many thanks for your help

    Romain
