Issue moving library to external drive

I have just moved my Maschine factory library and expansions onto an external drive. In Native Access, I have relocated the files and this is all fine. However, when I go into Maschine, I cannot see any kits/loops/one shots etc.

I have gone into settings in Maschine and library, then re-scan but this does not pick up the packs. A lot of these still have my internal drive shown as the path. I went in and changed each folder individually and re-scanned. This picked some up but not all.

I then deleted my library and favourites as per the article below, but this has not fixed it. I then came out of Maschine and went back in and the library had reset itself again - nothing showing up and folders showing as internal drive again.

What am I doing wrong?

In the end I had to reinstall all my software. There was a setting in NI access settings for the installation folder. I changed this to the external drive and tried building the database again, but this still didn't work. The reinstall worked.

Why does NI make this process so difficult. I decided to buy Komplete 14 and wanted to free up my internal drive on my Mac so I did the tedious process of moving everything over and now nothing is working correctly. I followed the instructions and it took hours.

Having to remove everything and reinstall is completely ridiculous.

I have the above same issues. Relocating the KOMPLETE KONTROL Instruments etc. to an external drive worked fine, but MASCHINE 2 ESSENTIALS including the Factory Library doesnt.

The online documentation doesnt match my software (latest version of Maschine 2) and that is very frustrating.

PLEASE: Does anybody have a list of the libraries used by MASCHINE so I can manually move them back to the internal harddrive ? ( I will leave my other instruments on the external drive as that works for KOMPLETE).

look at the library settings in Maschine and Native Access. This should show where the libraries are supposed to be stored. On a Mac, I think this is /shared/library/native instruments/<product name>

Thank you - but thats not it unfortunately. I properly reocated my libraries to the external drive, which works fine for KOMPLETE but not for MASCHINE. What irks me is that you can not "uninstall" MASCHINE using Native Access 2. There are instructions on what files to delete manually (which are not correct by the way) and I dont understand why NI can not provide a proper un-installer for ALL of their products. Not good software development that is.

What I had now to do to resolve this:

manually deleted anything which had MASCHINE ESSENTIALS in its name and then some … the library paths provided in the "help" file are not the right ones - sorry. Dont rely on that.
I moved all libraries apparently in use by MASCHINE back to the initial harddrive location (I copied them, so they are now both on my internal Mac harddrive (in users/shared) as well as on my external harddrive. I think I copied about 30 GB back the harddrive all together, which is okay. The huge instrument libraries used by KOMPLETE stay on my external harddrive and that works with my S88 MK2 and KOMPLETE
I installed MASCHINE from scratch (via Native Access 2), opened it and it works. I had to copy a couple more libraries back to the harddrive but that was easily done with the relocate feature.

My question to NI is, why are you not providing the same ability to relocate the libraries for MASCHINE as you do for KOMPLETE ? The answer might well be found in the age/foundations/legacy of each of these products … as much as I like the products both hard- and software from NI (I really do) I can also see that the software apparently has different developer "parents" in their past and origins.

Ah well .. back to making music and enough system management for now …

if you open up native access, go to library then select expansions/all, you then see all the expansions for (not only) maschine, the ones you mean as far as i understand
