Hi NI folks,

I had a bunch of old Logic Projects on an ancient laptop. They'd been made with instruments plus Kontakt 5 from Komplete 9. I recently purchased an M3 MacBook Pro running Sonoma 14.4 with a mind to resurrect my old projects. I installed the latest Logic Pro and Kontakt 5 and Guitar Rig 5, plus Shreddage II. Things ran, but only in Demo mode. Contacted NI support. OK, fine. Kontakt 5 and Guitar Rig 5 are no longer supported. So I bought the upgrade to Komplete 14. Last week I installed Native Access and used that to install Kontakt 7 and Guitar Rig 6. Ran great for several days.

But today when I opened the same project, Kontakt 7 is in Demo mode, and it can't find my instruments. If I go to Kontakt 7 in Logic, offers to option to "Activate", but when I press that button, it opens a second copy of Native Access which does nothing except immediately close. Currently,

Native Access only shows my old products, but the new stuff I purchased and installed is gone. Tried re-booting, re-adding the serials into Native Access. No luck. The new products are gone

Running Native Access 3.11.0.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

  • Greg

N.I. have made more N.A. mishaps lately that has struck especially Mac users.

Try downgrading to NATIVE ACCESS 3.8.0 (in case of a download problem then try log in to Google) , if downgrading helps then you can try and see if my extremely simple turn off auto-update 'mod' can be adapted to work with Mac also. (Please provide/help feedback to me if you manage to use it)(I don't have a Mac myself)

If downgrading doesn't help then try the trouble-shooter here : My Products Are Showing As DEMO in Native Access , especially '2. Your activation fails because of corrupted or missing activation tokens' and '3. You have corrupted XML files' (delete both NA XML and offending Kontakt product XML)

If the above doesn't help then try Jeremy_NI's latest 'invention' : the replacing of the XML file.

    Quote Jeremy_NI :

It looks like the Native Access.xml file downloaded by NA is damaged/incomplete.

In this example it is missing the Kontakt 7 entries, please try the following:

Delete the Native Access.xml in the following location and restart your computer and open NA

    Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center

Mac: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center

Repeat until the missing products reappear/the products in demo recognise their activation again.

If this doesn't work, please download this zip file, unzip it and and replace your xml file with this one.

    NativeAccess.xml.zip

If none of the above helps then please contact N.I. Native Access and Installation Support

At the page N.I. Native Access and Installation Support be sure to scroll down to page bottom to see if there is a log-in request , if there is then log-in , at next page again scroll down and small blue chat box ought occur within 15 seconds. Then write in chat box and when getting suggestions then select did not help when it didn't , that ought to bring you on to either chat with human or open a ticket. (You need to use a browser with Cookie , Security and Extensions settings that will allow for log-in on the page for the page to work)

There has been introduced chat support for Native Access assistance (at least daytime on normal work days) :

Thanks PoorFellow for the very detailed and helpful answer. Trashing the .XML file did the trick and now NA sees my purchased products again. Very exciting! I had a great night playing with Guitar Rig sounds on my Shreddage II MIDI tracks and resurrecting long dormant projects. Looking forward to making new stuff.

    Thanks again!
