    im a komplete 14 ultimate collecters owner, im not interested in any subscriptions at all. will there be an update to komplete 15 for users like me? ni already kicked me in the nuts with the total rewrite of komplete kontrol v3 software which i wont be updating to. if there is no update path to komplete 15 my relationship with ni will come to an end.

    No one given a choice would choose to pay continuously for something rather than once. Subscriptions are anti-consumer and anti-music. Taylor Swift and Edge would also be equal amounts angry if they went to do a remix and had bogus Native Instruments notifications telling them their track is no longer available because their subscription is expired or the instrument is no longer supported (as we all know how NI lives pulling the plug on things). Like I said the first time…it’s corporate greed and no artist should (or really would) support it. Amazing to me how many white knights show up for this company against their best interests. Just astonishing.

    @MorrisEd

    "Take note that NI never answered my question about whether they had any plans to change their perpetual license authorization procedures (I suspect they will)"

    Well - you could also simply hit your back button to Page 1 of this thread - from @Hayo_NI:

    "Why we need a subscription when customers already have various options to finance a perpetual license via multiple retail channels for much cheaper overall pricing with ownership on completion"

    "We" - do not "need" anything if we are already a perpetual customer. Assuming you have such a license - you too can simply carry on. for about the 14th time - this "sub" has no bearing on you and I in any way.

    As far as NI "offering" this sub - quite frankly - they are free to do whatever they want to move product. Does not mean I need to care about it.

    Waves tried subs only and we all know how it worked for them 😜

    As long as NI offers both options (perpetual and subs) - all is well in my world.

    Taylor or Edge would both be equally ****** if their projects stop working because their NI plug-in subscription is not current or NI just decides to host particular instrument. True artists OVER care about their instruments and would never let a greedy wall street company hold them hostage to make the sounds they need to express themselves. Users who march into the subscription cage against their own interests are unbelievable to me (and bad with finances btw). Also notice how NI has not (nor will they ever) answer my question about whether there will be any change to the DRM auth on perpetual licenses. That’s because over time we will all be incentivized towards subscriptions as they increase the perpetual pricing and change the DRM auth in a way that allows them to shut off our perpetual licenses (just like Roland did) any time they want. You will never own the sound your keyboard makes and tgat is just unacceptable. There is something very wrong when installing Komplete 9 on my old iMac would deliver a far superior experience to the most recent version.

    You don't. Somebody else might want that. You can buy perpetual, they can buy a subscription.
