Microsoft Windows 10 Home

System Name  LAPTOP-F31QO0UU

System Model  HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cw1xxx

System Type  x64-based PC

Raum version - 1.3.3 2024-04-15

I am experiencing an issue with NI Raum when loading in FL Studio - the plugin loads and sound plays but the DAW becomes unresponsive - doesn't go to a windows tech error, but the plugin is unresponsive, sound cannot be stopped and the file cannot be saved.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled FL studio, uninstalled and reinstalled NI Access, uninstalled and reinstalled RAUM.

Any ideas?

Thanks

It must be something on their side, I've got the same issue with any plugin updated that day.

Thanks, raised it with them too.

It works in Ableton but not in FL

I have the same issue right now as well. FL is the only DAW I use so this makes things very inconvenient. I want to find a way to revert back to the last update so this doesn't happen anymore.

It's on many plugins from NI. Ever since this last update with all the instruments and FXs when you load any of them it then freezes the DAW FLS completely. MIDI controller still works sound still comes out but unable to add new instruemnts and everything. but like I said after this last update it has ruined older projects as well.

This seems to be an issue with the VST version that's being loaded. Here's a link to another similar post from a couple of months ago. One of the NI Admins posted a link to a previous version of Raum. Maybe that'll help you.

I'll also say that I've been having this problem and I just downloaded the Raum installer in that Kaiwan_NI provided (v1.3.1, I think). Confirm that you want to downgrade when asked once you run the installer.

I'm immediately back in business. Projects are opening up that have Raum and FL is working normally.

I hope it works as easily for you!

I'm having the same problems with Dirt, Bite, Drive and Raum.

See how unresponsive NI is. It's been almost a half year since this problem was posted and still nothing.

Are they even still developing anything? What a mess.

All discussions that are uncomfortable for NI get closed. I assume there are no plans to ever fix this, same as with the HiDPI discussion… I understand there are investors breathing down their neck about "growth marketing" and "new revenue streams".

But none of that is going to save NI. And I wish the investors realized that the only thing that can make people regain trust in NI is if at least some of these long standing issues are adressed. This has been like this for over a year now, and nothing has happened other than "you can downgrade" which is not a solution for FL Studio users. Their money (like a good chunk of NI's core staff in the last few years) will go elsewhere.

NI's digital goods sector seems to be pivoting more and more towards content production vs software development, and I get it, it's a higher ROI business when everything you need to do is pump out kontakt packs and maintain a handful of plugins rather than hundreds… But on the other hand that means to a large user group, half the plugins in the KOMPLETE ultimate bundle are entirely worthless. Not ideal, having the main driver of sales go up in a puff of smoke like that. No influencer marketing can turn that ship around.
