If you bought it recently you may still have it repaired by NI at no cost. Ask support for details.

I don't have much experience with warranty, but did you tell NI you want it fix based on your 2 year warranty?

If they don't do that, might be worth opening it up and see what is broken. Maybe just a plastic piece is broken that you can replace. Or maybe solder on a new pod.

One solution is to go into controller manager, open the s2mk3 mapping (empty), Add In... Mixer-->MixerFX Adjust.

Press Learn, turn the knob, press Learn again, make sure to have the right deck selected (A or B).

Sorry if did not explain correctly, software registers movement correctly. Problem is the knob does not stops physically like before at min/mid/max positions

Support asked for $130 and i must send my controller and they will send a tested refurbished one. That's nearly half of what I payed for the controller originally. It seems a little too much for me.

Without warranty, replacing the knob may be that expensive. I am not surprised.

Ok. now left fx wheel is broken too lol…i got this controller a year ago jesus christ in heaven. If you are into FX even casually dont buy this controller. fx wheels are very small flimsy plastic wheels and fx overall is very limited and restrained.

Real problem now is that left one keeps sending midi inputs to traktor. How can i dissasemble or deactivate left wheel midi inputs? i mapped left fx wheel to sample knob but im worried about controller sending midi inputs to traktor even when not touching the controller.

Any help on this? TY ♥

As long as you map a control element to something that has no effect on Traktor (like a modifier on its own), it can send midi signal as much as it wants with no effect. This way, overmapping (with override) will deactivate the element.

You can also look in the qml code for the controller for the element and comment out any line that contains it, thus preventing any effect.

    Thanks for the help guys.

Turns out that as i feared stucked lowest value on left fx adjust prevents normal operation of the controller. I tried to by-pass it by connecting a novation midi keyboard and mapped FX adjust to the keyboard knobs but when i rotate them i can see the equivalent knob on traktor software jumping randomly to the lowest value again.

I'm exchanging mails with support to see if i can send them back the controller. I only hope i can get it back in normal condition so i may sell it and upgrade to another controller or just map FX to another midi device.

As this was my first controller ever im looking for a nice upgrade. I read that the potentiometers this type of devices use are prone to malfunction when controllers are USB powered, do you think it's a good idea to buy a controller that uses a power brick or similar? im running traktor on an ideaPad notebook.

Ok, NI is honoring the warranty but logistically is too expensive for them to collect my faulty controller so instead they are sending a tested refurbished one and they want me to provide a proof of disposal/destroy (what!? this is crazy and sad to me)

In the meantime i got a ddj-flx4 for my upcoming birthday and i already moved to rekordbox so maybe i sell the S2 when i get it back.
Horrible first experience with NI hardware.

Thanks again all for the help ♥
